“Awesome product. Gets very hot, works as advertised. The stove is particularly well made. Would be helpful if they sent instructions/care&maintenance info/video along with the package- the tent is not intuitive to set up. After 2 saunas noticing burn holes from embers in the roof by the chimney, going to place some fire retardant matting up there from now on. Have already recommended the sauna to a friend to purchase.”
“Product is great but this review is for the customer service. I ordered my tent and stove in May but didn’t get around to opening until November. Unfortunately, I failed to notice my sku didn’t include sauna rocks. I sent an email to confirm and ordered some at the same time. Long story short, email confirming my original order was correct but with an offer to discount if I was interested. Applied retroactively to pending order and away we go. Can’t count the number of people I have told this too and watched the disbelief on their face. Great experience.”
“So far, we really love our sauna. It's warm up time is quick and easy and the tent itself is easy to set up. We plan to leave ours up over the winter here in Oregon so that will definitely be a test for it but so far this fall it's amazing paired with our ice plunge pool and wood fired hot tub.”
“The tent is the perfect for anyone looking to camp riverside. In a way, it's even a more rustic experience to me than a wooden one. The new stove is awsome, better than the one heating my home. The tent deploys easily, and I haven't felt any outgassing while ive used it. The shipping issues were frustrating, but ultimately understandable. They put in a good amount of effort to reward those who waited with the extras too. Its a good company trying to make a good product.”
“Very good company with great core values! Hope to see them in business for years to come. Love the portable sauna experience!!
Thanks Overland Sauna!!!”
“I live in the suburbs and wanted to make my sauna both portable if needed, but mostly permanent. I put the unit inside a 8'x8' portable shed to protect from the weather and protect from the neighborhood. I bought a stove jack to put in the shed roof. I love that I can use whenever I want and have been thoroughly enjoying my new sauna. Looking forward to many uses all yearlong. I would recommend this unit. Thanks Overland Sauna!!”
“I was really impressed with my experience with Overland sauna. I pre-ordered their tent sauna package in Late 2022, and didn't actually receive my items until summer 2023; there were several delays, and each step they offered every option for compensation: refund, discount on existing products, or wait for the final products. Some of these delays were clearly out of their control, and other from a desire to have a strict quality control; these are not unreasonable hiccups during the first year of starting a company, and I was really eager to support a North American-based sauna tent option. Well I waited and got the sauna at the end of the day as promised and it was worth the wait!
The stove can get way hotter than I want it to, and it is portable. It is also the perfect shape; mine fits fine on a 12x12 patio stone, although you don't need it because it doesn't get terribly hot underneath. The stove is the perfect shape to take up the minimum amount of space in the tent. I have to remind myself that this stove is also designed with portability in mind. The heat I've generated has caused the bottom to bow slightly, and the feet no longer sit level (very close, but I use a small wooden wedge to eliminate all wobble). I put rocks on my stove and have really enjoyed using it and creating steam in the sauna. The tolerances on the door and lower drawer/vent are not super tight, which turned out to be a good thing due to the expansion/contraction of the steel as it gets very hot. However it burns whatever I put in it, I can't choke the fire off; options are "plenty of air" or "maximuim air". I have developed a routine that involves adding sticks of wood at regular intervals and with the hot rocks and steam it works great. Finally the light of just the fire is plenty for the whole sauna tent.
The sauna tent is impressive. Sometime I wish it was bigger but honestly it is the perfect size to build up some impressive heat. 4 large adult people can fit closely, 3 very comfortably, and 2 is downright spacious luxury!. From ice fishing I've been in similar tents designed for fishing, and I think this measures up to them just fine, even the "gold standard" Otter Outdoors tent. The tent hubs are heavy-duty metal, the fabric is nice and taught, and the velcro panels line up just as good as every other tent I've ever used (which they never line up perfect, but Overland's are top notch). I am really impressed with the oversized heavy-duty YYK zippers used as well. It comes with ice-pegs, but not tent pegs. I got 12 inch metal nails, some para cord, and learned the "taught-line hitch" to tie it down. It ties down grate. I left it out for a storm and it moved slightly, but not enough to bump the stove.
Overall I am really happy with my sauna, and it has satisfied my desire for Sauna. When I wear it out someday I will be able to justifiably build a more permanent one in my back-yard. I bought this portable one because I am a renter, but honestly the idea of taking it camping is incredible - I love it so much it would be worth the extra gear. I have never slept so good except after a Sauna; I didn't know I wasn't sleeping. Sauna is also becoming an amazing social activity with my sons. 10/10 worth every penny. I had mine shipped international to Canada with UPS. UPS caused some issues for me but I was able to resolve them, it was a customs issue that UPS created and then decided not to notify me and just sit on the package until I eventually called them thinking the package was lost; I later cleared the package through customs myself for a third of the cost and it was super smooth sailing after that. Anyway the is totally on UPS so my only suggestion could be for Overland to examine their international shipping option if they start doing more business north of the border - but even if nothing changed I would 10/10 order again, and I may because a bit of word of mouth and I know a few people who might order one too. :D”
“Definitely not worth the headache dealing with their company or customer service staff. After purchasing the product and then waiting for it to arrive only to be told that it would be delayed. Then more delays and more delays. I purchased in may didn’t get it until July and still never received the rest of my order. When I reached out to them they told me it would be at least another week. I told them that I was not going to accept their patronizing response and I was told that they don’t appreciate my accusations even though they are facts. You are better off spending the money it costs for a better quality long term sauna. Yea it might be a pain to setup but I would rather build 100 saunas by hand then deal with these people ever again. Extremely unprofessional and don’t have reasonable time tables on managing logistics.”
“Fantastic portable sauna setup with excellent customer service. Would recommend anybody purchase from them.
Had the portable sauna set up in the backyard in the winter. Would easily get to hot enough to enjoy a 20 min session.”
“I am very happy with the sauna. It is very easy to setup and the quality of the tent and stove seem very good. I am really surprised how well the tent insulates and retains the heat. The stove is easy to start and pumps out some serious heat quickly! My one and only gripe and the reason I had only done 4 stars is because of the stove door. The door does not line up and is lacking an actual seal. I have found that restocking the stove when it’s hot is difficult due to the door sticking. Overall the material quality seems good on the stove but the door could really use some improvement. This would not stop me from purchasing this again!”
