“We are a property investment company with holdings in both commercial and residential properties. Over the last five years we have purchased seven Peveril homes, on two developments at Fritchley and South Wingfield, Derbyshire. Having been initially very satisfied we have unfortunately experienced a catalogue of problems with the plumbing installations in these houses. At Fritchley these included badly fitted and leaking shower doors; the rainwater goods on every house (5 Nr) had a variety of defects, some of which became apparent after the two year warranty period and we have had to rectify at our own expense. One bath was poorly installed, it sank down leaving a gap between the top of the bath and the tiling- this had to be re-fitted.
Defective lead flashings on the chimney stacks of one of the houses, causing rainwater ingress to the loft space, resulted in both chimney stacks having to be fully scaffolded, the stacks demolished and new corrected leadwork fitted and the stacks rebuilt. This problem was replicated on other houses on the estate not in our ownership. On two houses leaks on waste pipework in the ceiling void caused staining on the ground floor plaster ceilings. We had to remedy these difficult repairs at our own expense as these were outside the warranty period.
By far the worst problem encountered has been at South Wingfield where again pipework under pressure in the ceiling void ruptured and caused a catastrophic flood in a house that had only been occupied for two weeks. Also the boiler programmer did not work properly.
Sadly we have lost confidence in the plumbing systems in these houses , in particular the fast-fit plastic pipework used and the standard of workmanship employed fitting it. Better more robust plastic systems are available.
We have therefore regrettably taken the decision as a company not to purchase any further houses from
Peveril.”
“We moved into a new home on Birches Brook 6 weeks ago. We has excellent communication from Donna Barnes before moving in and any snags after moving in were dealt with quickly & professionally by the site team.
We are happy with the finish of our home, it is better than a previous new build we bought (from a different company). One small 'even better if' would have been for our lawn to have been cut a final time prior to moving in- it was very long as our moving date dragged on well into autumn. It was hard to tackle!
It has been a positive experience and the paperwork involved was always well explained/thorough.”
“I've worked for peveril homes for a little while now at Lilly farm swanick The site is great but the management is very poor the site agent is useless No back bone what so ever tells no one to clean up after them selfs has a go 247 at both forklift drivers lets the trades get away with murder And now he wants to cut working hrs rite down??We need a new site Forman that knows how to run a job and proppley Not like this Ivan morron does.”

“Well, were to start. For the last miserable 10 months of living at one of the bomb sites we’ve experienced nothing but rude, inconsiderate, dirty, unprofessional, annoying, lying and arrogant ‘workers’, fobbed off time and time again because there ‘up against it’. They was completely unbothered about our gas leak, leaking doors, bannister pulling away from the wall, leaking windows and the fact they turn up from 5am/7am and make as much noise as physically possible. The whole estate is constantly like building site, so dirty that the drains don’t even drain, we have rang up and complained, emailed and complained, asked the workers them self for help and just basically been laughed at and made to feel very small. The kurb outside our house is completely broke away, the pavement has got big dips in it with massive raised grates that me and visitors have tripped over on multiple occasions, There’s always work vans parked everywere and making it difficult for us to gain entry or exit from our property. Staff throwing there dinner and cigarettes in our hedge, they make as much noise as they possibly can between 5am-10am and then they just walk around shouting at each other. It’s a joke, complete joke! I’de save your self all the hassle, headache and disappointment and go live in a caravan. Absolutely shamefully appalling.”
“From our first enquiry call to our moving in, Sales Executive, Kim Gibbs,, has been amazing. It is clearly not just a job for Kim but a vocation. She really cares about her customers and genuinely wants them to be happy in their new homes. We reserved the plot from the outset and it has been fascinating to see the original patch of mud morph into a beautiful home. Kim involved us at every stage and was always ready to answer questions, check preferences where there were options etc. In fact, the whole Peveril team on this site have been marvellous. Under the watchful eye of site managers like Dan, there seems to be a culture of genuine pride in workmanship amongst the whole team of builders and their associates.
We have now move in. Obviously time will tell, but so far we are thrilled with our lovely new home.”
“After numerous emails and being fobbed off for the last 18 months the development has still not been finished. Un-Tarmaced roads and paths and a poor attempt to disguise all their rubbish and massive mound of earth that they say will just stay there for years until they get the 3rd phase approved.

“I am so sorely disappointed with the level of customer service we have recieved.
This house was our dream house and it has turned out to cause us so much stress it's ruined the whole experience.
We have recieved different treatment from our neighbours, there are issues still outstanding, poor follow up and unsatisfactory responses and sometimes no response given.
I am at a loss of what to do next. We have complained to the Construction Director - Colin Wright regarding the Customer Care Manager because he had not addressed our requests for work resolved to a satisfactory conclusion. We detailed how he had called me a liar on the telephone and to my husband that we had not spent enough on our property to warrant the finish we expected!! In response to this complaint we got no call just a late response email from Mr Wright stating that he always felt that the CCM was a conscientious person and reasonable and that after talking to the said person it was myself and my husband that must have misunderstood what he was saying regarding the price of our home.
They then sent the very same person to our home to carry out the 12 month check when we asked them not to.
