“I am a freight driver use P&O but after last night's fiasco I am considering moving to steana ferry reasons are this ferry company has nothing but problems cabins not properly clean, crew members in polite to ward us and we pay your wages also after yesterday's rear door problems we waited and all P&O said a technical fault why not be honest and say the rear loading bay door was broken.
Very bad management as I said we waited and waited at least they could of offered us drinks on the dock side and same for all passengers with caravans, motorhomes, this is typical of P&O/DP WORLD you make thousands a year but have no respect for us truck drivers.
It about time you sorted out the ferrys they are 24 years old, why has dover got new it's time to replace these two ships with something new.
I am not the only person who is willing to complain about this problem with this company,so get you act together and sort this mess out before it gets worse. We all know it's called wear & tear but sort it out but this won't happen as all your concerned about is money nothing else.”
“We travelled on the 13/2/24 Hull to Rotterdam We booked the brassiere which i wouldnt do again it was a rip off. On the return sailing to Hull 15/2/24 we were informed that we were unable to disembark due to power failure, This was at 7:30am. It was bedlam people pushing and shoving we could not get anywhere. They then used the stairs to the ferry deck 3 we had to carry our cases down all those stairs which was dangerous will people pushing to get off. I had train tickets booked for 10am which we had missed. It cost me £75 to purchase 2 train tickets. I complained to the company by letter to be signed for with proof of purchase, When i rang was told i had sent it to the wrong address, P&O stated it was out of their hands and did not need to compensate the train tickets. I have travelled with them quite a few times but will think twice. What i would like to know did anyone else get refunded because everyone was disgusted and they wanted full refunds?”
“After a terrible night in a local hotel and my scheduled crossing was not until 1345, I tried my luck for an earlier crossing outside the +/- 4hr window. I was greeted by a lovely lady: Emma who informed me it would be £60 to get the next crossing. One phone call later and she had sorted it for me. She went above and beyond to get me on the next crossing and carried out her duties with a smile! Thank you”
“Do not use this ferry company! They are disgusting and have awful business practices. In March 2020, we had ferry tickets to go to Ireland. The global pandemic broke as we were in the UK and we were required to return to the US as flights were shutting down. Every hotel and reservation we had refunded us without penalty - even nonrefundable things - EXCEPT P&O Ferries. They gave us a credit and refused to refund. Now we’re at the credit expiration date, still in a pandemic, and they are refusing to refund the money. This company is STEALING from people who were put in peril to make a profit from the global pandemic. I will never use this company nor recommend them to others. Avoid traveling with them - you have other options that actually care about good business practices and their customers!”
“I love to travel on P&O Ferries the crew are great the food and cabins are okay but be aware, the casino is the biggest rip off going. No I'm not a bad looser because I won as I often do as a very experienced gambler. The casino staff are not the same crew and will rip new comers off every step of the way, so take care and don't go in there.”
“Very disappointing round trip to Rotterdam and back to Hull.
Upgraded cabin but had no loo roll or soap in the shower.
Tried the Brasserie restaurant for breakfast on the way home. It was nearly £30 for two - and we had the veggie breakfast not the more expensive full breakfast. What a ripoff. The veggie sausages were like polystyrene and we only got one egg!
On the way back we went to the Kitchen for breakfast. Better value as an all you can eat buffet and cheaper as we paid in advance. No veggie sausages though. Also had dinner in the kitchen but not many veggie options there either but the food that we did have was nice.
Worst of all was the waiting around in Rotterdam. In Hull we had driven through without waiting. In Rotterdam, the weather was cold and as P&O had texted to say boarding from 1500 we thought we would go early and get warmed up in our cabin. But we had to queue for ages and ages to get in. They were checking people in but then we had to wait over an hour in a freezing cold car to actually drive onto the board. Poor planning on P&O's behalf I feel!”
