Many thanks for a great week on the M/Y Grace. It truly is a very special and wonderful experience to visit the islands, with great guides who are extremely knowledgeable and to see so close up all the wonderful animals and sights of the Galapagos. The service and quality of the crew on the M/Y Grace are exceptional and look after you like we are Kings. Many thanks for another wonderful week and will be back for our third cruise soon.

Amazing trip, from the Atacama Desert to Patagonia both in Chile and Argentina. All accommodations were unique and very comfortable a yurt, ranch with generator for power, eco hotel built into the side of a mountain, and the ubiquitous hotel. The Atacama Desert week was our first week using Quasar we had no guide for this week, We live at 9,000' hike daily and wanted to summit a volcano at 18,500'. Quasar worked with the hotel advising them we lived and hiked at high altitudes with that information the hotel fast tracked us and we were successful in our climb to 18,500', followed by champagne at the hotel! This hotel had great food and our guide was perfect! We had a private guide during the Patigonia trip and he was the best part of the trip, we met and set a tentative plan that was flexible to take into account weather and what we wanted to do. We are not into much drive, sight see, drive stop, drive.....but more but more relaxed hiking in one area. I am a student of paleontology and Quasar set up two separate tours with additional guides to visit paleo sites. One site was with the paloebotanist who was working the site! We were able to do some special hikes those without a guide could not do, best part he found a puma!!!! I recommend a guide! One hotel cancelled several of their daily trips and guests were not happy. We always had a back up plan, became good friends and had a unique trip because of our guide. He knew birds, off the beaten path hikes, places to stop and became a great traveling companion. I could go on but I highly recommend Quasar.

My family and I all agreed that this was our best holiday - beating safari, the Amazon, Barrier reef.. - and all experienced post-holiday blues when we got home. I must admit I was a bit concerned about being stuck on a boat for a week with not a great deal to do - I was completely wrong. Being immersed in the simplicity of the islands for a week was magical, with a good balance of walks, snorkelling, kayaking. The lack of fear of the animals was really quite profound. The guides were extremely knowledgeable, whilst remaining unassuming, and all the boat staff polite and helpful. Being on a smaller boat with only 18 guests was a definite plus, and we were very fortunate in that all the guests were of similar mindset, and got on well with each other.

Trip taken October 2016, good communication, lots of pre-trip information - all helpful. The Evolution was nicely appointed with lots of amenities - kayaks, wetsuits, snorkel gear, hot tub. Food was very good and plentiful. Staff was excellent and tour guides extremely knowledgeable. Really felt taken care of. Enjoyed having a larger boat with fewer passengers - cruising was great and not as tight as some ships can be. Also 2 naturalists to choose from and you do not always have to be with the same guide or guests - creates some variety a chance to meet like minded travellers and also a good way to provide for those who are more experienced at activities. The Evolution is an older restored ship - rooms were a good size, bathroom nice, but amount of light into room minimal - would have liked a larger window or deck. I would cruise with them again.

I just completed both of the Quasar trips in the Galapagos, and they were the trip of a lifetime. The crew has attention to detail and to making each and every aspect of the trip enjoyable. The naturalists were knowledgeable, helpful and knew where to sight the animals. The captain was engaged with the passengers, and was friendly, welcoming and great fun. The cabins were spacious and kept meticulously clean. There were activities for most energy levels, and it never felt as if there were a lot of people around. The was a variety of food choices, and they were well presented, tasty and freshly made. It was a perfect trip and far exceeded my expectations.

Our group of 32 family, friends, and associates was not an easy one to organize or to please. Most are discerning travelers and many are budget-minded. We had diverse abilities, needs, and expectations—and everyone ended up with nothing but praise and also awe at this one-of-a-kind interaction with nature, science, and culture with very intense encounters with nature while feeling pampered and respected. One member of our group had a limited ability to walk due to recent knee surgeries and other problems. He fully expected to lounge on the boat while others enjoyed the creatures up close. Your crew determined that he would see and do almost as much as the others and created a exceptional plan where the ship’s captain and doctor went on every excursion with him to assist his walking and insure his safety. You arranged special panga rides to the prime spots so he could avoid walking too far or make difficult landings. This was so far above and beyond an expectation that not only did this gentleman have a fantastic time, we all reveled in his enjoyment—and noticed that his physical abilities improved with what turned out to be therapeutic! These guests included serious mountain climbers, expert divers, professional photographers, a marine biologist, experienced yachtsmen, many doctors, lawyers, PhDs in various fields, a writer, filmmaker, judge, editor, and policymakers—a very tough crowd! We also had two people with medically challenging diets. There was not a single complaint about the cabins, delicious meals, or even the demanding schedule. Not only was every need met—the crew intuited some before the request was made. (One guest prefers to drink iced tea and she brought her own mix. When the bartenders saw what she was doing, he brewed some fresh and served it to her as a surprise. Many of us started ordering it as well.) Of course we could rave about the amazing sightings of many varieties of whales, rare birds, undersea encounters in crystalline water, but another group might have a different—but surely as interesting—experience. However, the value of these was not just a list of species but the depth of the information and context that our naturalists conveyed. Also, it was because of their expertise in knowing where to go, the exact time of day, how to avoid other groups in the same location, which was food for the mind and soul as well as the immediacy of the uniqueness of the moment. First and foremost, though, I must praise the safety on this vessel. Getting off an on pangas in various sea conditions can be tricky and your system of three people assisting helped people in their 30s to late 70s to be confident. Plus you always had staff to lend a hand at sea, while snorkeling, or on land in difficult terrain to help many—including me—to have a “personal best” in terms of meeting physical challenges. Your system for handling various levels of snorkelers in open water was the best I’ve ever seen. I cannot praise the crew highly enough for their smarts, professionalism, and personal kindness. Plus, there were certain touches of comfort and luxury made the voyage extra special for me including icy towels after a hot excursion, those delicious and healthful tropical fruit smoothies, the always-fresh and interesting Ecuadorian cuisine, the warm Jacuzzi and cool beverages after a snorkel, the generous beach and spa towels, the wet suit assistance, the luxury linens, tasty snacks, yummy soups, and so much more! I cannot praise Quasar highly enough for its preparation, attention to detail, educational aspects, humor and fun, professionalism, and personal kindness from everyone we encountered.

Our trip in May was amazing! Every logistical detail was communicated and executed perfectly. The trip to Antisana with guide Daniel was the beginning of wonder; new birds, including Condors, and animals of the Andes. Our itinerary in the Galapagos was busy and fun, so many birds, penguins, sharks, sea lions, rays, sunsets, landscapes and on and on. On the Evolution we were treated to delicious food, friendly staff and knowledgeable guides. We also went to Sacha Lodge in the Amazon Basin. Going from ocean desert to rainforest was a big change and also a wonderful experience. Here we experienced culture in addition to parrots, macaws, monkeys, caimans, butterflys and more. These trips were all booked through Quasar with the help of our wonderful travel managers. It was the trip of a lifetime and I want to go back!
