“What a great company! Love your work and how you are making a difference both in another country and here at home. How many companies can you really talk to, (like someone is actually there) and you are heard with compassion and action. I had an issue with trying to be a novice shopper online and received a compassionate and humorous reply on the learning curve for everyone (Yes!) then another one with quality control on some beading and received a beautiful explanation, apology and partial generous refund, which I appreciated. As I told them, it will provide for my work of fixing the beading, to be done with a whole lot of Love and Appreciation, for the women who contributed to making this beautiful garment. Marvelous work Ladies - all of you.”

Hi Wendy! Yes, there really is a huge learning curve for online shopping--for retailers and customers alike! A problem we have with taking images of the silk is that, even in a matte finish, the fabric is reflective and shows differently in different lights. We use the brightest lights possible but that lighting situation is rarely repeated in real life. In the future, we would be happy to send you a video of the piece in different lights so you can have a better idea of the colouring. As for the loose appliqued discs, we are so sorry! As you know, each of our fabrics was once a previously worn sari and as such we sometimes see issues with the fabrics or appliques. If a piece is flawed or in need of repair, we add it to our Wabi Sabi (or Perfectly Imperfect) Collection and change 50% off. In this way, we are still able to recycle the fabric and honour the artisans for their labour in creating the piece. The flaws in this piece were clearly missed by us during our pre-shipping inspection, as such we would like to offer you a refund of 50% of the price of the dress along with our sincerest apologies. Thank you for your support of sustainable fashion! (We hope you enjoyed the FAZL socks!)

“Love my two new tunics from the Wabi-Sabi line; such beautiful vibrant colours. I would never had seen these "flaws". All the thank you gifts have been, wow, "almost" too much. ;-) I look forward to getting more and coming in to the shop one day to see it all and say hello.”

“It is such a beautiful piece that it deserved to come in a box, folded beautifully not bundled up like laundry. It’s hard to appreciate the product when it is delivered with such little care. $235.00 plus tax deserves better treatment”

Hi Cathy! We are so very sorry you were disappointed with the way your product was shipped. We carefully wrap each item in tissue paper and seal the tissue with one of our brand stickers. We also include a hand-written thank you card in appreciation of your choice to shop sustainably by choosing handmade. We made a conscious choice as a business not to invest in shipping boxes to reduce the amount of waste we contribute through our shipping practices. We hope you are enjoying your jacket, knowing that it was hand-embroidered by women in India who are paid a fair wage for their handiwork.

“I cannot say enough good things about this beautiful business! The owner and staff are helpful and kind, and go out of their way to help with online purchases; make sure you follow them on Instagram to see live try-ons. I've never been into the physical shop, but plan to, when I'm in the area; all of my pieces have been gorgeously made by expert craftspeople, and selected by the owner. I love the fact that these beautiful silks are being up-cycled into stunning and well made garments. Really special, all 'round!”
