We cannot thank you enough! Outstanding customer service and attention to detail through out the whole buying process. Would highly recommend using Saxton’s and especially Elliot Bruce who has certainly gone above and beyond.

I’m extremely disappointed with this company and the overall experience I’ve had. I purchased a 2019 Porsche Cayenne S, and an additional £2,500 was added to the total price for what I was told would cover polishing and an extended warranty. Given that extra cost, I expected the car to be delivered in excellent condition. Unfortunately, that was far from the case. When I received the vehicle, it had multiple issues and visible scratches. The main problems included: - The heater not working - A strange smell coming from the air filter - Loose door panels causing significant noise The car was collected on 11/02 for repairs, and on 18/02 I was told it was ready. However, they were unable to deliver it back to me, so I had to pay someone myself to collect it from Saxton, which is over two hours away. On my way home, I decided to test the radio and speakers — and to my surprise, the issue was now much worse than before. Instead of fixing the problems, it feels like they’ve made things even worse. Overall, this has been a very frustrating and disappointing experience. Poor communication, unresolved issues, and additional inconvenience have left me with little confidence in this company. I would not recommend them based on my experience.

I am extremely happy with Saxtons. Sunny and Jenna were very helpful and knowledgeable and I really appreciated them not being too pushy when it came to the sale. Loads of high performing cars to chose from.

I’ve reported our recent dealings with Saxtons to Citizens Advice, and the matter has been referred to Trading Standards. Based on how a straightforward pricing transparency issue has been handled, I’d advise anyone considering buying here to be cautious. We bought a car from Saxtons after seeing it advertised online at a stated price. We viewed the car and agreed to buy it. Only when the paperwork was presented were additional compulsory “admin” fees introduced. We queried this immediately and were told it “was in the advert”. It wasn’t. I raised this formally and requested a refund on the basis that compulsory charges should be disclosed clearly upfront as part of the advertised price/price presentation — not introduced at the last moment after key decisions have already been made. Saxtons’ response has been to debate fine print rather than acknowledge the lack of clear disclosure or take any steps to put it right.

**The worst car dealer experience I have ever had.** I purchased a Range Rover Sport from Saxton 4x4, assisted by a salesperson named James, who spoke very confidently about the vehicle and Range Rovers generally. Unfortunately, many of the issues that followed directly contradicted those assurances. I paid cash for the vehicle, and initially everything appeared fine. Problems began almost immediately when Saxton’s administration team registered the vehicle to my address under the *wrong name*. When this was raised, I was told it was an “admin issue” and that it could simply be “pulled back.” I made it clear that the vehicle was sold to me as **one owner**, and I was assured this error would not affect ownership history. I was then advised by James that the vehicle had *no tracker* and was strongly encouraged to purchase a TrackStar unit for £999 (including three years’ subscription). I later discovered this to be misleading, as the vehicle already had a factory Land Rover tracking system, which I subsequently activated at a lower cost and with far greater reliability. On collection, despite Saxton claiming a **200-point inspection**, the car was handed over missing tyre valve caps and no floor mats, with only two miles of fuel in the tank. These items were taken from other vehicles on site. For a £48,000 purchase, the handover experience was extremely poor and far from what you would expect from a so-called premium dealer. Within a week, I received a DVLA notification thanking me for “selling” the vehicle, followed by a new V5 showing **two previous owners**, directly contradicting what I had been sold. A subsequent independent inspection revealed numerous issues, including: * Intercooler pipes not tightened * Missing bolts and fixings in the engine bay * Evidence of rodents in the engine bay * Oil filter leaking heavily * Front parking sensors constantly triggering * Battery only charging to approximately 50% The TrackStar unit also proved unusable, sending theft alerts on nearly every journey and triggering repeated calls from TrackStar asking if the vehicle had been stolen. It was clearly not fit for purpose. Within the 30-day ownership period, I requested that Saxton rectify the faults and remove the tracker, as I had been misled and the product was defective. Saxton refused outright. I therefore issued a formal letter giving them 14 days to remove the unit or face legal action. Saxton collected the vehicle and later returned it claiming all issues had been resolved. In reality: * The TrackStar had **not** been removed * No new battery had been fitted * The front parking sensors had simply been disabled rather than repaired After further delays and being ignored by after-sales, I arranged TrackStar removal myself. When the fitter arrived, he confirmed the tracker had already been removed, leaving a mess behind, and the unit itself was missing. Only after further legal pressure did Saxton reluctantly refund the £999, along with a small contribution towards repair costs. To this day: * The V5 still incorrectly shows two previous owners * The front parking sensors remain non-functional * Saxton 4x4 has stopped responding entirely This has been an exhausting and deeply disappointing experience from start to finish. If you value transparency, after-sales support, and basic competence, I strongly recommend choosing another dealer. Saxton 4x4 appears focused solely on profit, not customer care or accountability.

Saxton has very disappointing customer service. When viewing my car, the battery was so flat I was warned by the Saxton salesman not to restart it, the windscreen wipers juddered because they were so hardened with age, and there was no tyre inflation kit. I was assured by the Saxton sales person that these would be addressed by their Saxton service centre. Infact, the battery and wipers were brought to my attention by the Saxton sales person! Why do Saxton show you shiny cars and then say it still needs to go through their service centre? Prior to pick up I called Saxton several times to check the status of the points above. The only response I got was that Saxton wanted full payment of the remaining balance 24 hours before pick up. When I picked up the car, having waited 45 mins past Saxtons agreed time, I asked if everything was done. I was told that their service centre had been through everything. I also asked for the service history record. Having got home, I discovered the wipers had not been replaced and the tyre inflation kit was still not there. Saxton sent an email link for service history record but it didn't work, I was told in the end to get it myself from VW. A couple of weeks later the battery was flat again, I recharged it. I eventually got the tyre inflation kit but nothing else was resolved. And no apologies from Saxton sales or service. Yesterday, 6 weeks from buying the car, I found four inches of paintwork to have flaked off the bumper, it's obviously been quickly blown over by Saxton to make it look nice for the sale but poorly prepared, I even found the masking tape still adhered in places. Today, on the first freezing morning, the car cranked slowly and only just started, a tell tale sign it's battery's worn out and now more apparent the Saxton service centre never addressed it as promised. The stop start has also disabled as a result. I called into Saxton showroom today explaining about the battery and peeling paint. I was given their service centre number to whom I explained the battery needed sorting as a priority, especially as I mentioned an immediate family bereavement a couple days ago meant I needed the car. The Saxton service call centre said if the car was now running and no battery light then nothing was wrong and that it's normal stop starting disables on cold mornings, however they failed to explain slow cranking, even though I mentioned it had been a problem brought to my attention previously. In conclusion Saxton service replied with little empathy by saying I'd have to get the battery resolved myself through their warranty company, not very helpful given my personal circumstances and its ongoing history of poor starting. As for the paint defect, they said sold as seen despite their inadequate preparation, I'm sure they would be impressed if I tested adhesion with some sticky tape before agreeing to buy it. In the end they would not even offer to look at the battery even though I was desperate and would come to their service centre, a couple minutes away. Having written this review you're probably thinking why did I buy this car from Saxton. To be honest I was too trusting from the outset and should have walked away at the point the salesman said the car battery was problematic. After all, presenting an £18K car for sale with a list of known snags to be sorted at the outset isn't really professional and is an indication that poor customer service is likely to follow. I have looked at Saxtons poor reviews and consistently they offer lack of thought responses. I can visualise someone at Saxtons sits at their desk, has a laugh with their colleagues about these reviews, cuts and pastes a standard reply and then looks at their boring hum drum social media for the rest of the day before going home and giving themselves a pat on the back thinking they do such a great job.

From my very first contact with their team, I was met with professionalism, empathy, and genuine care. They took the time to truly understand my concerns, responded with impressive speed, and provided clear, thoughtful direction every step of the way. What stood out most was their commitment to delivering solutions tailored specifically to my needs — not just quick fixes. Their expertise, patience, and consistency transformed what began as a stressful situation into one filled with reassurance and trust.

Do not use this company. Our experience with Saxton 4x4 was deeply disappointing, stressful, and costly. We were sold a vehicle that had been misrepresented in multiple serious ways, including: The advertised mileage was over 25,000 miles lower than the actual mileage on collection — a “typo” they claimed, even though the exact figure matched the last recorded service and appeared consistently across all adverts and paperwork. We were told the car had a full service history – it had not been serviced for over two years. The vehicle had mechanical faults identified within days, including leaking front shocks and steering issues, confirmed by both an independent garage and a main dealer. We were given inaccurate finance details, charged for extras without clarity, and were misled about pre-sale work that turned out to be over £1,000 — only disclosed after the deal was underway. Staff denied previous agreed figures, and post-sale communication was poor and dismissive. We ultimately returned the vehicle and exercised our right to a full refund under the Consumer Rights Act. The process of returning the vehicle was itself distressing: despite confirming our return visit in writing, no one at the dealership knew we were coming. The staff we had requested not to deal with approached us anyway, and one of us was reduced to tears in their showroom — not something that should ever happen when simply returning a mis-sold car. The company were not even prepared to reimburse us for out of pocket expenses such as the cost of our 4 hour round trip to the dealership or taxi to another dealership when we left with no means of transport. We’re reporting Saxton 4x4 to Trading Standards and The Motor Ombudsman, consumers deserve better than this. There are many reputable dealerships out there. This was not one of them.

I cannot recommend Brett enough! From the moment I walked in, he made the entire car-buying process smooth, stress-free, and even enjoyable. He listened to exactly what I was looking for, provided honest and insightful recommendations, and never once pressured me into making a decision. His knowledge of the vehicles, financing options, and overall industry was truly impressive. He went above and beyond to ensure I got the best deal possible, and I couldn't be more thrilled with my new car! Thanks Brett!!
