We wanted to switch energy suppliers but Spark blocked this for three months (the account was not in arrears and we have them meter reading whenever they were asked for). Very disappointing, left feeling like they were trying to get every pound out of us. Their customer service was unresponsive and unhelpful. Would not recommend.

I feel like I have been scammed by the agents of Spark Energy. Spark Energy representative came to my home in metro Detroit, showed me they were with my local gas company, and wanted to help me save money. I agreed thinking they were with my local gas company, Consumer Energy. Little did I know that was far from the truth. My gas bill doubled and now I have to justify the 1000s I paid extra. The agent was very untruthful and did not disclose who they represented and all the hidden fees that should have been accounted for. I now know that the agent was hired by Spark Energy and represents this. This is mal business practice, deceiving customers and this practice should end!

I wish I can give them less than 1 star.. this company is a complete mess.. please avoid them for your own sanity.. their customer care are so rude and silly.. no form of customer service.. I’ll take the company further..I am coming for you guys.. all the money you’ve taken from me you must pay in full.. how do you charge me 284 pound in a month and say it’s my estimated bill even after installing a meter.. I’ll sue the company.. just watch me.. thank God I’ve left the silly company.. THIEVES

Paid the bill, and two years later I have oops a debt collection agency harrasing me. Use another company even if it costs a little more

Spark Energy should be avoided like the plague. They will take unauthorised amounts from your account, up to x3 the agrees amount. They will ignore meter readings and estimate that you owe them up to x3 the agreed bill. I have been harassed up to 12 x a day for money I don't owe. I even tried to leave and they stopped me leaving as a result of an imaginary sum they said I owed. If you use this company you are opening a big can of worms for yourself.

Disgrace avoid and switch before you take one day of supply from this lot. Dont answer phones just harass you with texts Govt needs to get involved now!

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid... This company has the attitude that fraud is a natural occurrence when using Spark Energy. They can only be described as an OCG (organised crime group) I can’t even describe how disgustingly revolting this company are. They should have the license revoked and be thrown in jail...

F**NG SCAM. Their agent knocked on my door last year and I couldn't get rid of him. He insisted in showing me amazing offer that I will be paying £27 a month on electricity. So I agreed and we sat a direct debit on the spot. At the end of the year I received a £1250 bill. They claimed these were usages outside my terrif. Why did they not notify me on time? I'm also not convinced as I live alone and hardly in the flat. How is it possible that I was using £131 a month on electricity alone?? Now spark got out business, I got moved into SSE who arranged repayment plan for this huge debt in now in. If I don't pay it my credit score will be destroyed. What a F****G AMAZING OFFER

I’m going to be taking spark further. For my house which is all energy saving, I have been over Charged MONTH after MONTH again and again. They ask for meter readings every time I ring. However never do anything. They charged me 900 for one month! Actual mess of a company. I am going to be taking them further as hey are extorting people during a pandemic to make their own money.

Nightmare experience with spark energy!!! I have 5 daughter youngest 3 years old. Last week 2am my gas supply cuts off, so no heating at all, very cold night. Called emergency no. Guy came and pointed out the faulty smart meter put on by spark energy. 9am in the morning called spark told them what happened and 2 days later they thankfully sent engineer with meter which turned out to be a payg meter?? Lol Called spark and told them I am not on payg meter and don't want it but they said its only available?? Neways had no choice but to accept that temporary paygo meter, was told I will get top up card as it was the old meter not smart. It had 10 pound credit. 4 days go by no body came to swap the meter which they promised. Called spark again and told them I'm running out of balance too and have no card?.. Got reply sayn when u run out of balance give us call we will top it for u. Neways 10 pounds ran out on 5th day. It was 7pm, had food in grill for kids, 9 year old daughter was in shower and guess what??!! No gas😕called spark energy but after hour conversion they totally denied to top up. Told them everything, the whold setuation the guy didn't bother. At the end he just shocked me!!! He told me to go somebody else's house?? This happened on 9th November when Every1 is under lock down and clearly its vialating the law to go to some1 else's. Spark energy you totally suck!!!! I hope nobody else goes through such experiences.

Badly organised, poorly trained staff. AVOID AT ALL COST! First call with their agent they said my account was £1400 in credit and wait 10 days for the money to be credited. Called again 2 weeks later and said my bill was £18,000 in debt(not a typo). Now they have pulled a number from this air for £900 that I apparently owe. Absolute joke! Someone should be regulating these sorts of companies as they can charge what they like and if you don't pay it, you'll be the one with the damaged credit rating. Do yourself a favour and go with someone else

I was with a company DD set up no probs. All of a sudden spark got in touch saying they have taken over. Turns out they buy details of lettings agency (I rent my home) both spark and letting agency are at fault. Now have a huge bill to pay before I can tell them to .... Off

Ridiculous company. I moved house and closed my account, received email confirmation my account was closed. For two months after that, they took money by DD from my bank account. I called to rectify this, they promised the money would be refunded in two weeks. Three months and several calls later, still no refund. Now they're telling me they had a billing error and "no bills were created for my account" (even though they took payment every month), they're refusing to send me a refund until they fix their own system. Avoid this company at all costs.

This company is very dishonest, I do not know how they sleep at night. They blantently lie to you. They want 500 for an empty flat. Then they want proof it was empty, they ask for a picture of the reading, now I have it, they do not want to see it. Lying is there policy, have to ring them up tomorrow after doing a 10 hour shift!!!!!!!

Don't go near, was told I was on fixed rate £46 monthly no extra payments. 3 months later they took £139 out with no notice. Phoned them up & was told I should have been told this, argued that I wasn't & she suddenly couldn't understand what I was saying!! #unts

The worst consumer experience of my life, 6 years of hell. They've tarnished my once perfect credit score through their consistent incompetence, even worse, after spending 12 hours a week on the phone for over a year, I blame this company for seriously impacting my mental health. Breeching legislation and their contractual obligations is common practice. Charging what they want, when they want is standard practice (as a single homeowner, I was regularly left without food or essential items due to random 200%increases in direct debits) Which, Martin Lewis, OFGEM.... Please bring this company down, they are literally destroying lives!! (Ps. I'm a professional and one of those folk who would say with confidence 'it only happens to people who do something wrong or who don't pay on time') it did happen to me and it could happen to you too. Avoid this company at all costs!

Never ever again!! I am currently on a third month of trying to switch providers. They are objecting every single request of mine. The reason is the outstanding balance - but there is a balance every day. Just avoid by any means. They always mix something up. On the phone with them every single month.

When I rented the house, Spark Energy was the provider the estate agent moved me onto. I did not want them so changed to my old energy provider. Several separate bills came through for gas and electric, with wildly incorrect meter readings. I supplied the correct reading to Rebecca on 12/03/2020. I was told a new bill would be sent out. After 2 weeks I received a text to say my bill was overdue. I had still not received the updated bill. I was allowing extra time due to the Covid-19 outbreak as I suspected companies, including the mail delivery were now struggling with staff numbers. However, I used the link in the text to pay the bill. The following day I received a text from a debt collection agency saying I need to call them! Wow!! The updated bill had (and still has not) arrived. Yet after two weeks (2 weeks!) they passed my bill to a debt collection agency. I am still trying to get to the bottom of if this has affected my credit rating. If it has I will take this further. I asked for confirmation the account is closed. I still have received nothing. Mickey Mouse company, and expensive as well. Disgusting behaviour.
