“I received my first copy last Sept 9, 2022 and so far I'm loving the content. I love knowing other people's experiences about their love for coffee. I usually hang around the bar area when visiting cafes so that I can chat with the barista and talk about coffee. Room for improvement: 1. Packaging - Maybe there's a way to protect the corners. When the magazine arrived, all the corners were damaged (have creases) so it somehow ruined the receiving something new experience for me. 2. Texts on photos - Please improve templates for texts on photos like adding margins. Let me know where I can send some photos if needed :)”
“I am a new reader having received only 3 editions so far. Number 27, “Space, Toast, and Coffee” is my favorite by far. As the subtitle suggests the topics are massively diverse. They are also very visual. Even without pictures, this would be a visually stimulating publication. Every article has descriptions or word pictures that do a wonderful job painting themselves on the imagination. As with any publication, not every article was of great interest to me but I still read most if not all of every article. I do have a very minor nitpick. To me, many of the articles sound like they were written by the same person. I’m not sure if this is due to strong editorial guidelines or maybe an accepted writing style but it seems odd that all writers sound very similar.”
“Signed up for one issue, but the content is so good - going for a full subscription. Insightful articles, aesthetic design, very nice choice of coffee sample that comes in set.”
“interesting topics and well written articles. I love all the content and vibrant photos, the stock paper used for the magazine is great quality. Great presentation from cover to cover”
“I got this as a birthday gift for my boyfriend because he's one of those people who doesn't really need anything. The magazine is super high quality. It covers a range of interesting, coffee-related topics. Even the coffee sample package is too nice to throw away. It tells where the coffee is from, who the farmer is... We're really just impressed with the whole thing. My only suggestions to the company are A) My confirmation email says, ". . . and it expires on ." without giving a date. It's not a big deal, just surprising considering how painstakingly detailed the magazine is. B) Think about using a link to a webpage where somebody can put their address in if this subscription is a gift. It would be easier for the recipient to retrieve their gift this way instead of going to the website, ordering the product, putting the code in, etc. Also, I don't usually like people knowing how much I spent on their gift that easily. These are not dealbreakers for me- I'd still buy this again. They're just things to consider.”
“I recently got in touch with my first edition of Standart (#25). I found it to be excellent, quite different from other coffee magazines and for the better. I have just subscribed to it and strongly recommend it!”
“I think standard is just too bougie for me. I thought I was getting a magazine that would teach me about coffee. I want to know about how to brew, techniques for espresso and latte art etc. StandArt seems to mostly be stories about people I've never heard of. It's only tangentially related to coffee really. In four issues I only learned a few useful bits of information that I could have just gotten from a blog post. Really not happy about this because I wanted to like StandArt...”
“My copy arrived only a few days ago, but I've been asked to review it already. I'm away overseas so can't say how I feel about the new issue, yet. But I have thoroughly enjoyed every issue since number two, so I'm sure this one will be awesome. Maybe allow more time before requesting a review.”
“Standart is simply fantastic. It arrives fresh and ready to be read. It generates enthusiasm and excitement. Arriving with delicious beans makes it even more special. The colors, the writing and the topics are just outstanding. Love reading it every time!”
“Great issue that among other things included worker rights, tokyo cafes and the insights from a South African cafe owner with a shout out to my own coffee home Aotearoa/NZ. Though the topics were not new, I learned something new in all three of the articles just mentioned. Standart, however, is not a 5/5 for me. The design is just not where I'd like it to be - which is shorter articles with the option for deeper and more extended online exploration if one so wishes. More images. More texture in terms of design feel and variation. This is a tough one as variation in design can also feel fragmented and uneven. I'm looking for something simple and surprising. Both easy and challenging. It is a fine mag. I will buy again. Thanks to the editors and contributors.”
