“Tercüman hanımefendi iyi niyetli ve işini iyi yapan birisiydi. Sınav öncesi tanışma faslı olmadı. Bu bir eksiklik. Sosyal hayatta muhatabımız kim bilmek istersiniz. Belki tercüman için sadece bir iş ama sınav olan kişi için önemli bir an. Hassas olmakta fayda var. Tekrar teşekkür ederim. Çalışmalarınızda başarılar diliyorum.”

“Quite poor quality of interpretation, it seems as if the interpreter was dealing with the subject (theoretical driving license exam) for the first time. Very poor knowledge not only of the terminology, but overall interpretation was sometimes quite close to ''google translate". In my opinion, either you should engage those with relevant and sufficient experience and those familiar with the subject, or at least the person should come well prepared for the topic of discussion. Sometimes it was very difficult to understand what she meant, translation was not accurate and not precise, several times she had to correct herself multiple times when she was intepreting the question, showing that she was not confident in what she was saying. Generally I'm very dissatisfied with the quality of services.”

We would like to clarify that interpreters during theory exams are required to translate questions and answers neutrally and verbatim, without explaining, rephrasing, or influencing the content or outcome of the exam. The examiner and the examination authority determine the terminology, pace, and assessment of the exam. The interpreter has no role in preparing candidates for the subject matter and cannot provide clarification beyond direct interpretation.
