TopCV has to be the worst company I have ever encountered. Their dealings are unscrupulous, their customer service is dire, and they provide the worst product possible. I saw TopCV advertise that they can redo your CV and cover letter to help you get a job easier and get past the ATS systems. I emailed them quite a few times and on more than one occasion asked if a person would compose the CV rather than AI, and each time was assured that yes it would be a person and not AI. So, I paid £109 for their service. I was astounded when I received their ‘first draft’ of my CV, it was clearly written by AI, anybody could see that and it was obviously not been written by a person. To make matters worse, they had put things on my CV that I had not done, expecting me to lie to prospective employers. This is in fact illegal in the UK; you can be dismissed immediately for lying on your CV. The CV was badly written, and the formatting was terrible. I showed it to several professionals, and all agreed my current CV was in fact far better. So, I emailed TopCV and told them I was aghast that they would put lies on my CV, and it was so obviously put together with AI, you could do this yourself in 5 minutes so no need to pay someone to do this for you! I told them that as they had broken trading standards (using AI when I asked them not to) and had put lies on my CV, I had no confidence in them and requested a refund. They went back and forth for several weeks and basically refused to refund. So, the summation is that I have paid them £109 and got nothing in return for this. Their offer to rewrite was worth nothing to me as I have no faith. They are capable of doing this without the use of AI, and the company point blank refused to refund. Avoid this company at all costs; you are better off doing what they have clearly done and just using a free AI Chat site.

Disappointing experience with TopCV My experience with TopCV has been horrendous. I paid to get my CV updated and the CV I recived was neither compatible/optimized with ATS scanning nor human eye tracking. Seems the CV was updated by a non-technical person with very limited knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry. The selection of words in the CV were below par may be at school level in India. Please see detailed comments on Facebook and X. Please do not waste your time and money with TopCV and rather is any AI template yourself

If I could give a negative review I would - please avoid at all costs. I purchased the 'Ultimate' package on 3rd October for £103 and out of the multiple items included in my package, I only have access to the LinkedIn refresh. The CV was never finished and was then removed from the portal when I eventually requested a refund which never arrived. TopCV continually disputed the inclusion of the CV Coaching Package despite my providing evidence of my purchase, then the Coach was unable to schedule an interview as 'the calendar was not working', I since received an email saying this 'is on hold'. I was never given access to the 'world class CV editing platform' or able to utilise the 'We apply for 3 jobs for you' - this is now useless since I have found a job in this time. I have made numerous calls and emails to which the response has been diabolical. I contacted Trading Standard who confirmed this is a breach of contract, and I followed their advice to send a letter by recorded delivery on 19th November requesting that TopCV provide the services or a refund within 7 days. I sent this to both registered address and both have been ignored. I had to wanted to resolve this amicably but have no option but to now seek further legal advice.

An awful experience with TopCV. I opted for both, Cover Letter and CV. When I received a first draft, I was shocked at the substandard work - total garbage written by ChatGPT. Yes, they use AI and lie about it. When you sign up, you're promised a professional writer, HR expert, coach etc. In the end, the outcome was worse than I could do myslef. Amateur work. Cover letter~ information overload. Just copied everything I wrote on my "old" CV and put on "Cover" letter CV: again, they put everything I sumbitted on a piece of paper and gave it back to me. Just MUCH WORSE. No layout…… very cluttered just a lot of information, incorrect termonitology, a made up experience, obsolete or incorret language etc. Made my cry. Even though I had 2 revisions, it only got worse and I can see more AI USED to draft the CV, the text did not even make sense. No Professonal or HR expert would ever write like this. It was one of the worst services I’ve ever used and total waste of time and money.

very little to no value add for experienced professionals - based on the level of writing, they produced, they are probably using college students to rewrite resumes of experienced professionals

Very bad experience! AVOID! You supposed to help people improving their current CV’s! If I was to just rewrite my CV, the way you sent it over, I could have done it by myself without the need to spend any money. And now you are asking me for more? For what? You didn’t spend any additional advisory time afterwards! What you sent is just a draft with a promise to collaborate together in order to make any appropriate improvements. I need to mention that I am very disappointed from my whole experience with your company as I didn’t receive any help from you! Due to an unforeseen situation I wasn’t able to contact you earlier, only to find out that you are not going to help me improve the FIRST INITIAL DRAFT you sent!!! I am sorry but this is a really bad experience for me! Bad customer service, no help provided, no collaboration, nothing! This is NOT a professional approach!!! I am totally dissatisfied! You should take care of your customers instead of asking extra money, especially for services that have not been used at all!!!

It’s a scam. Do not use this service. I never usualy write reviews but i’ve never felt so ripped off by anything i’ve paid for in my entire life. I’m furious. I’m currently stuck in a very demanding job that I hate and my life outside of work is so busy that I’m struggling to find the time to keep crafting resumes and cover letters for all the jobs I want to apply for. I thought using this service wauld help me quickly apply for a few jobs I had my eyes on and then after that, I thought i’d have a much stronger resume and LinkedIn profile I could adapt to apply for other roles quicker. I thought I could trust this company due to the quality of their resume.io website that i’ve been using for the last few years. What a mistake. For some background about my carrer, I’m currently working in green green tech but my life outsiode of work is deidcated to music and i’ve studied sound technology at university. I’ve been trying and failing to find a role in the music industry for years. I’ve recently turned my attention to trying to start a career path in sync/music supervision. Many of the entry level roles for this career path are administrative; often positions such as royalties administrators or copyright assistants. I’m confident my background in administration and green tech has given me the transferable skills and experience to succeed in these roles - I just need help selling myself, getting past ATS and condensing my resumes and cover letters as they tend to be a bit too long. Let’s get the two positives of this service out of the way first: 1. They’ve made my music related skills more of a focus on my resume, which I think helps show my personality and passion for music better. Before they were only mentioned briefly in the hobbies section. 2. They’ve condensed my previously quite wordy resume. Now for the issues: The writer clearly hasn't read and seemed determined not to read the job listings i shared with him that I want to apply for. Instead he gave me a generic music resume and cover letter - i could have found a similar template on the internet myself for free. None of the jobs i’ve shared actually ask for music skills - they're all administrative roles within a music environment. So the skills they've asked for include things like attention to detail, being good with data, strong written communication, organisation etc. It would have been easy for the writer to pull out examples of these from my old resume and notes I shared with him. Instead, the writer has totally ignored the skills and experience the jobs I want to apply for have asked for, and instead talked exclusively about unrelated music skills like mixing, mastering, live sound etc. As a so called professional writer I'm astounded by his lack of knowledge about the job application process. One of the golden rules is to not clutter a resume and cover letter with skills and experience that aren’t relevant to the job you're applying for, yet in my first draft the writer didn't mention a single skill or piece of experience that aligned with the jobs i’ve shared and mentioned some of the unrelated music skills three seperate times. This would never get past ATS, as they haven't mirrored any language or key skills from the job listings i’ve shared. After my first draft came back i pointed out that he hadnt mentioned any relevant skills and experience. So their solution was to crowbar in a couple of my suggestions into sentences, which meant they now make no sense. Some examples:   “Refined communicator with exceptional organisation and attention to detail skills; committed to engaging in live gigs and club nights to keep abreast of the latest developments in the music scene.”    These are two unrelated points so not sure why they’ve been merged them with a semi colon?Doesnt make sense.      “Delivered comprehensive support for the UK’s largest heat pump trial, achieving detailed customer insights through efficient management of surveys, certifications, and grant processes. “    This doesnt make sense – certifications and grant processes had nothing to do with achieving customer insights.      Overall, the quality of writing is poor. It’s generic. Large sections are overly wordy and sound like they were written by chatgpt. I did an AI test and it came back with a 45% ‘likely written by AI’ verdict. I’ve spent most of my spare time over the past few weeks trying to analyse the documents he’s given to me, list all the mistakes, then draft up responses. This has taken up more of my time than if i’d have written the job applications myself. There's no discussion. I thought we’d be able to bounce ideas off each other but the writer avoids most of my questions and suggestions. And he clearly hasn’t listened to my requirements. Before my first draft came back, i realised i was going to miss the deadlines for the three jobs i originally shared, so i asked the support team whether the writer could focus on a cover letter and resume for one particular job only. They said it would be fine. The writer didn’t do this. I asked the writer directly a second time. He ignored me. I’ve messaged the writer a week or two ago highlighting all of the issues with his work, asking why he’s ignored my requests, and asking him one last time of he could write me a cover letter and resume for that one job i now want to focus on. I haven’t heard anything since. Overall it's failed on all fronts: 1. It hasn't sped up my job search. Its actually slowed it down. In the time i’ve spent dealing with this i’ve missed all of the jobs i wanted to apply for. 2. It hasn't given me anything i can use. Large portions of it are obviously generated by a chatbot. If employers use the same AI checker i used they’ll reject my resume. Even if they don’t used an AI checker, the resume doesn’t mirror any of the language or mention any of the skills or experience necessary for the jobs i want to apply for, so it will probably be rejected by ATS. The whole package cost nearly £200 but i reckon the writer has only spent about an hour on this. It feels lazy and rushed and should only cost about £20. Charging £200 for this service is a scam. If the team don’t give me a refund i’ll be chasing the money back via my card company.

**Google Review:** **Rating:** ★☆☆☆☆ **Title:** **Terrible Service and Zero Support – A Complete Waste of Money** I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Top CV. Despite paying for the premium service, the first draft of my CV was a complete mess, failing to address any of the feedback provided by Top CV themselves. Instead of highlighting my extensive experience and skills at a director level, they downgraded my profile to a junior position, which is unacceptable. After several back-and-forth drafts, they marked the service as completed without any improvement. I have tried multiple times to contact their support team, but I have received absolutely no replies. This has resulted in a significant loss of both my time and money, leaving me with a subpar CV and nothing to use for job applications. This experience has been absolutely disgraceful. Top CV needs to take responsibility and rectify this situation immediately. I demand a full refund or a proper revision of my CV that accurately reflects my career level and achievements. This is not what I expected from a premium service, and I will continue to pursue this matter until it is resolved satisfactorily. Top CV, please contact me immediately to address this issue.

Hello, I was generally disasastisfied. Top CV/Reusme is a high-volutme "factory" to help people get past algorithms. That's fine for beginners, but I have decades of work experience and am in a career transitions. Rather than treat me like a factory mold, I would have appreciated working with someone, including at least 2 video phone calls, who respects my unique personality and what I can bring to a company or organization that is not based on a cookie cutter concept of a human. The LinkedIn redo was the most boring thing I have read in my life and uses tons of jargon. As a professional writer, I found it something I personally would never want to read! The money you charge for the executive package does not, in my opinion, correspond to what you provide, which is sadly incredibly I'm personal. Dealing with some guy called Patrick M -- not knowing his real name, where he is based, what his own experience is -- made me feel like my life was being presented in a written package by an unknown entity in Timbuktu. Very depressing.

You have to complete a questionnaire and provide any old CV and cover letter, they would just reformat whatever you have given them without even changing any wording. Really bad service and you will waste your money.
