“I was contacted by a dog boarder saying they were available and to secure the date’s I needed to subscribe. I paid for 3 months at £57. The boarder then tried to pressure me into paying them the full amount up front without meeting them. They were trying to scam me. I have contacted Holidog 3 times to get a refund as I have booked elsewhere and make a complaint with zero response. I will never use this company again.”
“Lots of pet sitters. 57€ to access the whole base for 3 months is a good compromise. We had plenty of time to find 3 options before NY holidays. We recommend!”
“PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY
PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY - DO NOT USE.
I was paying the £57 subscription fee and I actually paid this twice (every 3 months, on 13th April and 13th July 2023). I turned off auto renew in August but they STILL charged me and suggested I had NOT turned of the auto renewal.
I contacted them on the day the 3rd renewal happen and they refuse to refund. I had a reply basically saying, sorry, but tough. I shall post this in as many places as possible but you have been warned..!!
I suggest ANYONE who have a subscription with them to end this immediately and contact your bank to block the company..!!
Thanks.”
“SCAM SITE. Avoid avoid avoid. DIshonest, appalling and shameful. They write their T&Cs so as to profit from an illogical and absurd policy and, despite having a Head of Refunds, they refuse to admit their fault. Incredibly unprofessional.”
““
My dog seems happy to stay with Julia and is keen to play with Julia’s rescue dog. In my opinion Willow is thriving from her visits to Julia
I would not hesitate to recommend Julia JAKUBOWSKA who is registered, experienced and knowledgable pet sitter and boarder””
“Do not trust the refund policy. I signed up with a view to book a sitter. However, there was only one available and I was not prepared to leave my dog with them based on their lack of interest and communication. I attempted to get my subscription fee since I only had joined the day before and despite it being 24hrs they refused to refund my payment. BE WARNED. No refund will be rewarded if you are not able to find someone fit for the dates you need. I paid subscription for nothing. Avoid at all cost”
“TOTAL SCAM
Website doesn't work - you can't contact anybody. There are no sitters. There are no search options really. There is no way of actually selecting any preferences, and even if you skip your preferences, the results are the exact same and there is no difference.
Couldn't be more obvious of a scam. I can't even click on my own profile or cancel my payments.
AVOID AVOID AVOID
THEY DO NOTHING
PARASITE”
“The service is useless.
Most of the people listed do not do it anymore and rhe few who do are booked up a year in advance. For my £57 pounds all I got were two responders. When we went to visit the first she was a heroin addict living in absolute squalor with five dogs( which hadn't been mentioned peior) of her own which she keeps in her tiny kitchen. No way were we going to use her. The second was asking around £600 pounds for a 14 night stay, she was eager to take our booking but the cancelled in us 2 weeks later which left us high and dry. Your auto renewal is way of getting more money out of the customers. I put reminder on my phone to cancel the auto renewal subscription but it came out anyway I have sent several emails asking for a refund of my £57 pounds taken by you and thus far am being totally ignored. Absolutely disgraceful and if I could give no stars I would!!!!”
“The majority of the pet sitters are inactive therefore significant time is wasted contacting people who will not reply. Furthermore, there are significant excessive repeat fees buried in the small print which will not be refunded despite not being required. There are better options available with better customer service.”
“Joined this week.
1. Not sure what due diligence they do but after paying for membership, (which by the way, Holidogs sets up as recurring on your card) i contacted a pet sitter. Petsitter had messaged before I psid membership. Once he was booked I got the address, phone and email. Address is a commercial premises, phone number turned off, no response to email.
2. Conclusions? Scam.
3. You cant remove your card ftom your profile so they can charge you for ongoing membership, pay phantom sitters.
4. Emailed Holidogs, based in Paris three times and no response.”
“Extortionate price for zero response! Listed sitters are non existent or details are so out of date it's impossible to find a trustworthy option. Met up with one potential who refused to let us view her property and openly stated she just 'did it for the money'. Customer service is unhelpful and borderline rude.”
“Most Petsitters don’t even bother to reply so you are lucky if you find one. They by default set you to renew automatically with all the intention to take your money again and again and when you claim they just refuse instead of setting you up by default as a one off and then ask you to suscribe if needed. Absolutely joke”
“I managed to find a very nice sitter via Holidog but unfortunately the people who operate the site are awful. I had the three month subscription because that was the minimum amount available (still cost £57). I set a remind on my phone for just before the subscription was due to auto-renew. I stopped my account from renewing and thought nothing more of it. I've now been charged again and they are refusing to issue a refund. I can't for the life of me remember if I got an email confirming the cancellation but I didn't save it. If you do end up using them please keep hold of any correspondence or (if you get none!) get them to confirm the auto-renewal is switched off. You could also completely close your account.”
