The worst customer service I have received in the last 10 years of dealing with financial institutions. I accept that there will always be challenges when taking out a mortgage. What has made my experience so bad is the total lack of communication from the mortgage arranger. For a customer to be waiting for a callback and to then be told the following day when phoning yet again that the person has gone off on a course for the week is totally unacceptable. I was constantly waiting for calls to be returned and never once received an apology. If I hadn't already paid for this so called service I would have stopped the process within the first week due to the total lack of communication and poor resolutions.

Initial service from the advisor (Sam) was excellent. Good product knowledge and a personable and understanding approach based on initial contact rating would have been 5*. However, the the case was taken over by an administrator (Sheryl) once the provisional product was selected. Contact and updates were minimal despite my request that I be updated with other products that might be of better value during the 5 months before I was due to remortgage in order to achieve the best rate. No updates despite emails. I completed on June 6th, however, no contact made re completion from Which, aside from the mortgage company. I should have been given on years free membership of Which magazine as part of the fee paid and have heard nothing. A shameful service for an expensive fee. I am disappointed that the brand name Which is associated with the standard of customer service provided.

Spoke to an advisor for about 40 minites, she was really nice and I made an appointment to speak to her the following week during my lunchbreak at work. I booked a meeting room so I could answer all the DPA questions in quiet, waited 15 minutes and she didn't call. Quite unhappy as i'd informed her of the urgency, I called Which? again to try and get hold of this lady only to be told she wasn't available. Started speaking to the man who answered but this meant I had to start right from the beginning. He kept missing important things. His tone was really bored the whole time. The advisor kept saying 'you don't need to know that' when I was asking him what the interest rate was he said 'Between 4-5%', I askes; yes, but what exactly is the percentage and are there fees with Natwest?, 'You don't need to know that right now' was his answer. I hung up. I decided to give one last try and called back and spoke to a third advisor who was very helpful but I only had 10 minutes of my lunch left. He said he'd send me the mortgage breakdown by the end of the day for me to look over and then he'd give me a ring back. 3 days later it arrived via email; no call back from Adam. Would definitely not recommend. If this is how they can treat you before they take your money off you, how will they treat you when you've paid the £250 application fee??

We went with Which due to their reputation but have been sorely disappointed. We had a Help to Buy mortgage but we noticed that there was no mention of this in the mortgage offer document. We bought this to Which's attention and asked if there are any additional forms for the help to buy side that needed filling as the Help To Buy site suggested there were. They advised us that all was in hand, no documents needed to be filled and our solicitors and Nationwide were aware that this was a Help to Buy mortgage so the mortgage offer was correct. This was not the case and we almost lost our house and became homeless because of their mistake. The mortgage was delayed by 4 months and we ended up having to escalate to MD level in order to gain any appropriate level of service. The stress and extra fees this caused are nothing in comparison to the fact that it triggered stress induced alopecia leading to hair loss and eventually having to purchase a wig. We are currently discussing compensation with the company but they continuously avoid addressing this very upsetting and important fact. They have shown no humility nor apologised for this disastrous consequences of their misconduct. Avoid Which mortgage advisors unless you would like to be misinformed, loose your hair and have to perform the role of a mortgage advisor yourself despite paying them for this service.

Unbelievable bad customer service. You will be calling and calling 'Which' to get every part of the process completed. It would have been less stressful to go direct to the bank. Plus I'm 250 pounds down. Not sure how they carry the which brand.

Poor value for money. The service at the very beginning looked very promising, but in the end I paid £400 to secure a mortgage with a high street lender, something I would have been better off doing myself. When issues arose, i.e. timescales associated with the survey, I ended up calling the surveyors personally to deal with the problem. When I asked for support from Which? the response was to all intents and purposes "we've done our bit." Communication throughout the process particularly at the end was disjointed. I had to remind each Which? employee involved in the process that I was an existing Which? member. I am a strong advocate for the Which? 'supplier/product review' service, but as for their Mortgage Adviser offering, I strongly advise against investing in this service.

I use Whiich if I want information on most expencitive purchases, however I am cueeantly looking to downsize , and am poking for a Retiring viiiage for a two bed apartment, and find that if I was unhappy there, it would cost me up to 10. Percent of the selling price of my selling price if I sold it.. I think that is far too much. The prices are about £400000

They may be OK for run-of-the-mill applications, but anything beyond the norm they're simply not equipped for. Their call handlers possibly have too many calls on to provide in-depth examination of any of them : 1. Stated that an appeal about a credit rating shouldn't be undertaken - had to press them to do so... and was accepted 2. Repeatedly emailed them including details of when I was available.. only to get replies asking me to send them details of when i could be free for a call 3. Their final documentation contained key mistakes on the sums involved, and it took me three attempts for them to resolve Would strongly advise AGAINST using Which? mortgage advice if there's ANY possibility of complications.

As a Which? Trusted Trader, we have been very disappointed with the lack of support from Which. We paid for our subscription last Dec, the Little Red Book (Directory) was not issued until August. I asked several times for a copy, but did not receive one until a couple of days ago - our annual subscription has now expired! Our entry in this "Little Red Book" gave an entirely incorrect email address for us. When we queried it, were told by the "Customer Support Liaison" that this was the email address initially provided by us. It wasn't, and I have written evidence to prove it. The Customer Sales person was condescending in the extreme, constantly spoke over me when I was trying to convey my complaint, and just made me feel that the entire debacle was my fault. I raised several issues with her, and she just dismissed them, saying, "Oh, yes, other people have mentioned that, we'll correct it next year". She kept saying "You should have updated your profile page", yet when I try to do so, get an error message, saying the link is broken. Not good enough. We spent close to £500 for an incorrect entry in this Little Red Book, and on the occasions I have had to call them, they have been unhelpful in the extreme.

I requested pension information from Which advertised as a "Free Guide". I have today received a telephone call from them or a company they employ to ask if I have 5 minutes to discuss my request. When I asked what would take 5 minutes the very officious girl on the phone said she would take my address and whilst my details were being processed would talk to me about how Which could help me. Sensing this was going to be a sales pitch I declined her offer. She then pressed me on why I did not want to go forward with the call and I said are you are going to try and sell me a subscription to which ?. I was amazed when she came back with if you are going to be rude I will end the call !!!. I said I had only asked a question and I thought she was being rude. At this point I decided I had had enough and decided to terminate the call. After considering her comments I have complained to Which and asked them to review the tape of our conversation as I am sure this is not how they expect their staff to behave.

I am not normally a review writer, but these advisors were so bad, it’s not a review it’s a warning! I chose the Which mortgage advisors because they were recommended by Which, hoping it would be a smoother transaction, I was wrong. The impression I received from the people I dealt with was they did not communicate; one person was asking for documents I had already sent, another asking for documents that were not needed, and all this taking up time. I was remortgaging, if it had been a purchase then I may have lost the house. Maybe this is a one off, maybe most of the time they are the best, however I will not use them again. So it’s a thumbs down to the Witch (yes, Witch) mortgage advisors.

It appears that you are following the co-op model and philosophy of governance. It takes ages before a new product is reviewed, you are very selective of which brands you review with an especially biased view to very high price end of models. I have wrote to complain in the past just to get the standard thank you for your feedback response and then no further correspondence of how you deal with issues raised. Why not save more trees by going totally online with your publishing and stop money grabbing by having an holistic view of a consumer so to combine holiday, gardening and computing in to one journal. In a nutshell you are serving your employees, you don't listen and give feedback, your free competitors publish quicker and more comprehensively especially regarding discounted brands remember austerity and cost of living crisis yeh that was a good campaign you had!! and your trying to get as much money as you can from your members, thank god your not a bank.

At the moment I am very cross with your service. I cannot get on your website, I just get a blank screen. Every other website is fine. There seems no way to get help for this.
