“My order was scheduled to be delivered five days ago, on April 23. However, USPS told me this package was missing my house #, even though my complete address appears on my ebay order. Due to the deficient address, USPS is returning the book to World of Books (WOB), the ebay seller.
I need this book for a research project. I wasted hours, trying to obtain quick access to an online version, but ended up buying the book again from AbeBooks (also sold by WOB, for $ .79 less!). There will be a 3-week delay until the book arrives.
This is the first time I've had a problem with an ebay seller.
P.S. Better Business Bureau gives WOB an "F" rating for 92 complaints, and failure to respond to 57 complaints.”
“I don't like to leave bad reviews but recently I've been very disappointed. No care taken with packaging, books rarely as described abd in poor condition. Just ordered a brand new book from their website and it wasn't even packaged properly, meaning the corners are ruined. Had multiple disappointing orders now so I'm now earning others”
“I submitted a review last week about World of Books.It was a negative review. Subsequently I was contacted very promptly by the Customer Service team (Alan.)
I was asked to send the details of my complaint along with the order number. I then received a very apologetic email stating that I would receive a full refund. This was totally unexpected and obviously well received. My faith in the company has been restored. I have removed my orignal review and am more than happy to post this positive one.
By coincidence my son ordered four books and they arrived in an excellent condition. In fact one looked as though t had never been opened at all. I can only presume that my misfortune was the result of ordering a book which was not readily available. In summary, as a result of my experience both bad and good I have no hesitation in recommending World of Books and especially Adam in Customer Services. I look forward to ordering from you in the not too distant future, Many thanks again.”

Very disappointed. Books described as being in very good condition. All with yellow pages. The crossword book had 33 crosswords already completed. I paid £10 for a book with face value of £7.99.
I will say no more other than you will never get business from me again.

“HORRIBLE experience with customer service. Was trying to look at shipping window and there was no "confirm order" and it placed the order. Reached out immediately after to cancel and they told me they couldn't locate any orders for me and couldn't assist. Reached out again later, still couldn't assist. Got a tracking information today (clearly there was an order and I see the charge on my card). Reached out about cancelling and they told me that I can deny the package, which is not an option as I live in a building with a mailroom and it will be dropped off and just end up sitting there, or return the item to them when I receive it, but that I am responsible for return shipping charges. Absolutely terrible, frustrating experience and now have a book that won't even get to me before my trip, which was supposed to be a gift for someone, and will be stuck with it. Will never order from here again and will advise others not to also, due to their poor customer service.”
“One of the worst experiences I've had ordering online. First, after selecting a book, I went to cart to find out the shipping charges; surprise-it automatically placed the order for me! Then after going down a rabbit hole trying to find out how to cancel, the less than helpful AI chat said it can't be found and try again in an hour. This was within minutes of ordering, another hour, same thing. Then I received a message saying it was shipped. It seems it's impossible to cancel an order. The customer service chatbot is full of AI slop, and sends you down so many false paths you eventually give up in frustration.”
“I received the wrong book over a month ago now.I complained to World of Books who replied saying they couldnt deal with my complaint due to a new initiative launched by Ebay.Despite repeated reminders I have not heard from ebay at all and WOB merely say that they cant deal with it as it is Ebays problem.What a shambles!!”

After an idiotic conversation with a bot, and finally ( can you believe!)with human I finally find out that I need to give them more days-6 is not enough to send books. It seems they just like my money! Well, the x-mas holidays didn’t fall from the sky! “Total con, received email saying some books were missing (they weren’t, I double-checked before sending) and only received half the money for all the books sent. Dodgy and would never use them again.”
“I order a book from them and when they issued a tracking no. it stated that it was not in the usps system and it never track anything. They claimed that it left there warehouse but I never got the book. Then they relisted it with the same item number at a much higher price. All they wanted to do was a refund. Then I complained to ebay and I told them that I wanted the item but ebay sent me the refund anyway. So I reported the seller to ebay and is still pending. EBAY needs to SHUT THEM DOWN.”

“This always happens with this company. I order, they issue a tracking number and my order goes into a black hole...no sign of life, delay notices, etc. I've received 9 refunds this month alone thanks to the eBay Guarantee Program.
I have no faith in this seller. I would recommend you avoid them! I would give zero stars if possible!!”
