Terrible service to buyers in favor of dishonest sellers. Multiple double VAT issues. Support staff react with succinct to zero communication, if at all. Buying records on Discogs is a minefield, if you are unlucky. This is a call for a balanced new platform on the principle of fair business.

new user avoids this site! toxic forum and difficult UI, use another way to buy and collect. You will get harassed in the forum by those "real ogs" and "police" on the site. such as Jayfive mentioned here by other users. They will gang up and harass you.

Hi. I was charged VAT in an order, and then a second time in costums. First i complaint with costums, who said that no VAT was payed in the origin. I've contacted the seller, and he said that is an automatic charge that the site www.discogs.com makes, but that all the supposed “taxes” are for discogs pocket. I read then the vat issues in the site, and it's something it happens, but that they will make a refund. I've opened a ticket, with all the proofs asked, they don't answer, just keeps closing tickets. They've gotten the money, if i send it to paypall it's the seller who looses and not discogs, and are just closing tickets without a word why.

I tried to create an account but I suspect the site will not accept an apostrophe that has always been in my surname. God only knows why

I ordered 4 records recently and had all 4 within 2 weeks. 13th floor Vinyl went way over and above what was expected. There is a real person behind the business and he was very supportive. It was my lack of knowledge about ordering that was the problem not them!

I bought an item that was said to be in "very good" condition but was actually in terrible condition. If you look at almost every item it is described as such. Why not have a picture of every item? Most of the prices are very high and many items are still in stock at record labels, Amazon, Indie Merch, etc. Having said that, if you're willing to pay up and risk them being in poor condition you can find some rare items. I was interested in an item which gave the price and said "plus shipping." It didn't say what the shipping cost was, however, so I went to "check out" to see if it would. Because I did so (went to check out) without purchasing the item, I now have a negative feedback and many won't sell to me. Pretty weak.

Nonexistent customer service, fees charges on shipping, no new features to the platform. A forum moderator named Senor Velasco and Jayfive sexually harassed me for months and made some very lewd comments.

Customer service is the issue. Dealing with Discogs support has been a nightmare. The replies are sporadic and lack any initiative in helping you, as something that could have been fixed in one email took 3 weeks of segmented emails (and counting), making using support and help an incredibly laborious task. I do not recommend being a seller here, you are better off selling your records someplace else where they care about their sellers. Terrible service. Like others here, if I could give a zero, I would.

I attempted to purchase a record on Discogs. The seller had a problem with his PayPal account and was unable to accept my payment. This is the only payment method the seller offered. I communicated with the seller and he attempted to resolve his problem with PayPal. In the meantime, 7 days passed and Discogs gave me a negative rating (the first negative rating I have had on any site, including over 300 purchases on ebay). I sent the email streams between the seller and me to Discogs customer service to no avail. I still intend to pay for the record in spite of all this (that is only fair to the seller). Once that is accomplished, I will close the Discogs account and never use the service again. This is about as shoddy a business operation I have come across since the invention of the Internet. If I could give zero stars, I would. Date of experience: March 05, 2023

The site is now just one big scam. Multiple 'sellers' listing rare items at low prices who try to get you to pay outside of Discogs and lose any buyer protection. Avoid.

There are a lot of self centered "experts" on Discogs. I put my records in my collection there to keep track of them - USING THEIR OWN DATA FOR RELEASE DATES ETC - and people will harass you for the info being incorrect !!! Some are so ignorant and if you complain to "management" - they will ban YOU! Avoid if possible. |Management" will do nothing about fraud sellers as well.

These people allow the sellers to steal your money for a product you're buying and leave it up to the same seller to make things right. If they decides not to respond back to you, you're out of your money with no product and the fee for shipping is very expensive. I would never wish what happen to me on any honest buyers.I wanted the christian music so bad I over paid for the shipping never receiving anything.not even a refund.

I have just been scammed by one of their bootleggers via Discogs marketplace for just under £50. Discogs are facilitating the illegal sale of bootlegs via their marketplace. Some titles listed never even existed until a bootlegger comes along and creates a so-called 'release page.' They do not care for intellectual property rights or copyrighted materials in general. Discogs are just cluttered with inaccurate information and guesswork which they allow these bootleggers to hide behind!

Seller violates the privacy law and is protected by Discogs. Happened more than once! Discogs just removes the feedback and ignores the fact the details are still elsewhere online, forever! Seller and discogs shake hands to make more money together, again. Discogs allows their own policies and universal privacy laws to be broken without any recourse. Your private information isn't safe! All criminals welcome this site!

Discogs is a den of deceitful sellers, whose scams are backed by the company’s unfair policies, at the expense of buyers. They even remove feedback as they please, with no respect for users, and are disgustingly incompetent in handling disputes between the parties. If you can, shop elsewhere. They should definitely be avoided like the plague!

Discogs leaves disabled people with no recourse. Yes, it's true, Discogs removes negative feedback in order to keep seller ratings inflated. If a buyer doesn't get what they've paid to get as far as the condition of the product or even a working tracking number when the seller requires that the buyers pays for registered shipping, and then the seller doesn't offer a viable solution that doesn't require a disabled person that hasn't left home in over a year since the pandemic to return it (in addition to leaving the buyer on the hook to take care of return registered shipping costs to another country - that's what Discogs and sellers are counting on because they know the buyer loses out either way in the end), then Discogs will remove the feedback to keep the seller's feedback rating higher than it should be. In the end, both the seller and Discogs don't mind leaving disabled people high and dry with no recourse. Discogs will probably try to weasel their way through this by saying that my feedback violated some kind of policy that's left so opened-ended that virtually no negative feedback can be left.
