“I have been shopping at Russell & Bromley for well over twenty years. In particular I used to love shopping in the Southport store. The quality of the shoes and bags were exquisite at an affordable price. I recently purchased a Otley bag and Liney shoes. Disappointingly the full priced bag was sent to me wrapped in brown paper with no dust bag, and the Liney textile gold shoes were on a par with cheap high street brands - not at all the quality I expected from R&B. They both got sent back. I wouldn’t have placed another order but I had already ordered a pair of Everleigh sling backs and saddle up boots which were delivered the next day. The saddle up boots arrived scuffed and should not have been sent out in that condition - especially as there were over ten pairs available at the time. As for the everleigh heels, the website stated small sized and to size up if in between sizes. I am a true size 5 which is what I ordered - the sling backs were at least a size and a half too big. I ended up calling customer services to complain about a number of issues I had experienced. I explained I will not be shopping with them again and all I wanted was a refund for the items which they had already received back at the warehouse. To make matters worse I keep receiving repeat emails to notify me that the items have been returned but still no refund. I now completely understand why they have closed the doors to so many stores in prime locations. I will give them 48 hours before I escalate my complaint because they still have not initiated a refund for faulty and poorly packaged goods.”

“Recently I bought a pair of leather ALDWYCH boots £245. I wore them just for a night and they bend . I took it to the shops and after the review from * scientists* leather specialist I have been told that nothing fault or wrong with the shoes but they ofer me for free pair of socks to help the situation which I refused sarcastically. Imagine how they going to be after months. Guys the Russell and bromley are not on same quality like before Me and my wife spent lots of money on Russell and bromley trainers. But after that never again.”

“Park up size 6. One pair returned due to stiching being loose on opening the box. Return pair was poor quality with messy finish to sole around the stitching. Leather coating coming off at the side where it had come away from sole. Awful quality! This company needs to up its game! These shoes are clearly mass produced.”

“Russell and Bromley , chorley chukka boot in suede , this is a low quality made in Portugal boot that gives the false impression that you are getting craftsmanship. Don't waste your money for similar money you can get a Loake or Sanders or Grenson English made suede chukka boot which I have in my collection and the difference is like comparing an omega watch to a Chinese knock off . the suede is low quality and will not take wear and impossible to maintain appearance , the sole is a Dainte imitation with poor construction with both heels coming away from the sole with minimum wear. Russell and Bromley are destroying their reputation , stay well away”

“Thought they were meant to be a good brand. How untrue. Shoes last a day. When I tried to return they were just so rude. Tried to blame me for the way I wore the shoe. Absolutely appalled. Shall never be back and I wish more people knew how bad they are. Blaming a customer for their bad quality is unforgivable.”

“Never again been to hell and back and could not go through any more parkup two diff size they say they never get complaints net is covered in them really bad not good service or quality products been made feel bad no coustomer s no job people are going to shop somewhere else”

“I bought a pair of “park up “platforms… £195….they look fab on…but they are such a bad design!! Your heel slips out as you walk because the front top of shoe is to short/ low for a slip on shoe that has such a thick sole. Any jobs going in Russell and Bromley design studio?….. Because I think I could do a better job”

“Bought the Park-up slip on trainers in white - cost almost £200 and are quite frankly THE worst shoes I’ve ever bought, one wear and my feet were bleeding because of a ridge inside the heel of the shoe, dreadful & have gone straight in the bin because I can’t bear them in my feet - don’t buy!!!”

“Bought pair off boots online from Russell and Bromley,they have delivered to a wrong address to a estate agent on the house that nobody lives so it took me a week to get them from the agency and the boots were damaged but no replacements,repair or response from Russell and Bromley customer service Strongly recommend do not use online Russell and Bromley”

“Not even received my order yet but the customer service staff seem like an ignorant bunch of idiots who avoid answer your queries to save hassle. Ordered on Friday of last week and they were quick enough to take payment but items were not dispatched until the following Wednesday. Have read complaint after complaint about people receiving seconds. If they try and pull this stunt with me then I will be sending them straight back. Very disappointing to find some many negative reviews. To the point where I am tempted to send the shoes straight back and said they are not getting my business. Any company that charges £300 and above for shoes and takes 4 days to dispatch your order is clearly suffering issues and is NOT the high end retailer that they claim to be. Happy to pay the additional £100 and stick with Cheaneys as at least I can have the confidence that they won’t be falling off my feet within 2 months....”

“Quite possibly the rudest, snobbiest store staff I have ever come across, although Chanel is a close running. And I’d i through it would get better outside of London I was mistaken because fenwicks in Newcastle is just as bad. What on Earth are Russell and Bromley thinking of when they hire staff? That elitist arrogance will win them sales? I am sick and tired of being spoken down to and looked up and down like I’m filth. I’m done. I’ll happily take my money elsewhere.”

“bought loafers in sale for son received a scarf from china - no reference to russell and bromley didnt make connection and packaging thrown away because I signed for it they would only give half my money back and keep a scarf I never ordered - shoddy never again”

“I would give no starts if i could, R&B shoes are not fit for use. i paid £195 for a pair of work shoes that have lasted no more than 3 months. i only wear them in the office and not to and from work, however i wore them to a meeting and it was raining. no big problem you would think.... Wrong the shoes leaked and the leather turned white over night, the shoes cannot withstand a shower. i wrote to customer service who informed me the shoes were not waterproof and the leather would leak..... £195 for a pair of shoes that cannot be worm out of the house. come on this is not what you expect from an establishment like this, i will not return”
