Not owning a car - but enjoying travel and cycling I opted to convert a slightly customized, but well used 20 inch folding bike with a Swytch kit. This bike travels well on local/regional bus racks and goes with me where ever I go. the standard kit installed easily (I did need a short additional extension cable to keep the axle notch pointing down) but all elements from the wheel to controller/battery clamp and the optional throttle I ordered installed without a hitch. I normally tour with this small bike (adding some paniers and a small trunk bag) and my tent/sleeping pad etc. While not a powerhouse for big hills when loaded the pedal assist makes trips a real pleasure. The quick connecting and rubberized battery does fit into my cargo pants or packback making the bike secure for travel or when grabbing a snack at tour stop. Overall a great option for my needs. The sensor and set-up offer a nice sooth boost that is gentle and easy to control and a pleasure to ride with. I would have given 5 stars - and would not hesitate to recommend the Swytch kit - only noting that the delivery process was simply confused... arriving 4 months after an email said the kit was ready to go (would miss Christmas but arrive within 30 days). This led to 3 months of polite email exchanges. If the delivery process can be made transparent - delays are ok but get the messaging right - should be 5 stars.

After ordering kit, didn't here anything from Swytch for a long time, company should do regular up dates each month.Been riding now with the Swych kit now for 8 Months now, i have a few issues with the kit which is mentioned further in the review. Fitted kit to a Btwin 900 Tilt folding bike, the lightest bike i could find. After receiving kit, it was easy to instal, the only tricky part was getting sensor in the right place, remedy moving sensor with Sugru Mouldable Glue, sets hard in 24hrs it wont move now. Once that's sorted pop the charged battery on cradle & you are good to go. The only issues i have with the Swytch kit is range they quote 17 miles on the Air Max i am getting around 11 miles , at the lowest settings. Also in future when the battery is in the cradle it is still on, should have a button to switch off, instead of removing the whole battery. If you wanted to order extra Batteries or other accessories you are unable to do that after the order process has been completed. Just be careful when using power settings the higher you go more power you use lowering your range(really fast on 5 ). Overall a good lightweight kit.

I have just completed 3 years with the switch kit and I think I can give a long-term honest usage review. To start with, if it weren't for Swytch I would have given up on cycling in Bristol due to some steep hills in the city. This kit arrived the same day I moved to Bristol and it has been the key to keeping me cycling through the past few years with some physical challenges. I have the last-generation kit and it still gives me around 25-28 miles on a moderate hill cycling. Secondly, I like the volume and small holding grip which helps in taking out the battery and just charging either at work or home and not really feel awkward carrying big lumps of tower batteries that were available during early 2020 in this budget. Lastly, the customer service is absolutely brilliant. I had a minor issue with the controller and contacted customer service. They replaced the entire battery pack within a week of my logging issue. I am very impressed and possibly will go for the new generation one as soon as I have saved some extra for this. To anyone contemplating converting your bike with swytch kit, go for it - You won't get any better than this.

Resolving to resurrect an older second road bike for use on wet weather days, I was busy upgrading it with a new hollow tech chainset and branded dual pivot front brake calipers when it occurred to me what better upgrade than going digital electric. Cue the ever-so-easy-to-fit Swytch conversion kit. Now what was my second best bike has easily become my favourite conveyance, revolutionising journeys around town.

The kit took a month longer than scheduled. I also had some challenges in fitting as the supplied wheel was incorrect. Like other reviewers, while there is no telephone support, the Online support team are very good , may take a day or two before getting a response but they always do. Very pleased so far with the kit, would recommend it.

Oh my gosh - I LOVE my Swytch Kit. It’s amazing! I love my bike, it’s so cute, but I’m I live in a city with a lot of hills, so it’s hard to get around with a Cruiser. This kit was the perfect thing for me! I commuted by bike all summer and thanks to the battery assist, I didn’t have to arrive at work drenched in sweat!

Works well on Mountain roads in Montana and still getting work out. Cuts time by 50%. Wish I would have ordered second battery. About 12 to 15 miles assist, On hills. Smother shift than rear motors. Pleased with Swytch.

Transformed my cycling in the mountains with my family who are all on full electric bikes. I couldn't keep up, now I can. Easy to fit, works a treat.

Unacceptable delay in delivery (took eight months, not the originally-stated three!), but once fitted, a brilliant bit of kit. Very easy to fit (took me about 2 hours) and works really well. Top tip for extending battery range...keep it turned off for level or very gentle uphill gradients, and save for use when the uphill going gets harder.

I had to wait for my battery due to problems in the shipping, however the kit has been great since. I have now ordered a kit for my wife hopefully we will have no problems with the kit.

I love it. Functional, simple. I love that I can adjust the levels to help me get to work with exercise, but not being totally sweaty when I arrive. I've recommended it to my friends and several cycling colleagues at work; there's several of us swytchers there. :-)

I moved to a hilly place where short rides for errands became grueling tests of endurance. The Swytch that I put on my Bianchi has expanded my bikeable distance by a factor of 2-3, It’s amazing!

My dad converted my bike with me, so I will know how to repair it. I can go a lot further than I would have been able to now, so I can keep up with my two children for longer. The battery is easy to remove and recharge, and I've just sent for the new smaller battery so I can, more easily, safely lock up the bike and carry the battery into the café or supermarket. In fact, my +70 year-old dad was so impressed when he had a go, that he sent off for a kit for his little folding bike, so he can pop it in the back of his car, and find different places for a bike ride that he wouldn’t previously have been able to ride to, as he lives in a particularly hilly area. All in all, a great kit with super customer support and useful explanation videos. The photo is a quick one without the battery!

I electrified my 30 year old handmade Swedish local brand bicycle, Skeppshult. I reused the front tire not to loose the core branding and DNA of the bike. I bought the long range battery and converter kit and I also bought an extra trip computer which I mounted very easily. I have already got a lot of positive feedback and people are amazed that such an old bycycle can be modernised and converted so easily. I would also like to highlight the great customer service from Swytch that answered all my questions prior to ordering.

The power is good but the regular battery is only sufficient for short trips. I would probably need two or more of the bigger batteries for a day's cycling but I have not tested that. The weight of battery and motor on the front wheel create an instability for my less cycling-experienced wife. A quicker-to-operate on/off switch would facilitate conserving battery life on the flat and downhill. A lock on the battery catch would avoid the need to remove it when parked in town. The battery and mount occupy prime handlebar space making it awkward to mount a light, a front pannier and a bell - designing in a mount for a front light would be a boon. Swytch has been a low-cost introduction to the realities of an e-bike allowing us to understand the benefits - speed and power versus the challenges - eg extra weight, centre-of-gravity, range limits. Swytch facilitates 'sweatless' about-town trips, which is ideal when I can't afford to have to shower when I arrive, but the battery has insufficient capacity to help me overcome a long-distance knee problem I experience on long cycles. I appreciate that I could solve this with extra batteries, so this remark is merely to calibrate the Swytch performance in real use.

The kit is an excellent product. Easy to install and works very well. Experience with the settings will get you to what is optimum for you and battery use. Customer service I have found excellent. The only criticism I have is the ordering process. It takes a long time from order to receipt. No doubt due to stock not being carried. My bike though is a joy to ride with this kit.
