Love my swytch kit. Have experienced some problems with loss of power and having to keep adjusting the sensor on the pedals. However it has made my cycling experience so much more enjoyable

This is our second SWYTCH kit, the first being the first available. We found the kit fairly easy to install with the pedal sensor being the most difficult part because the kit doesn't seem to be made for newer bikes. If your bike has wide tubes, or limited space at the pedal crank, expect to make modifications to the kit to get it to fit. Another thing to keep in mind, if you do convert a newer bike, the bike manufacture's warranty will be voided, even though the kit does not require any modifications to the bike's frame. If you have a warranty issue, take the kit off and put the original front wheel back on before taking it back to the retailer. Our largest complaint is the base display used on the newer kit. The base display indicates a battery level different than shown on the battery power pack itself. When we asked Switch about this, they indicated it was an intentional design to help manage the battery usage. The problem is, I would rather manage the battery's usage myself based on the ride I'm on. The older kit version doesn't use this base display, allowing us to manage the battery usage ourselves. The new kit may shut off the power even when the battery power pack itself shows there are 2 to 3 bars of power left. When this occurs while on an uphill, you are out of luck unless you turn off the base display for a minute or two. When you turn the base display back on, it will show you have power again, but only for a limited time before you have to repeat the process. The response from SWYTCH was "It's important to note that the power level indicators on the power pack and the base display may not always match exactly due to varying power demands. The base display's behaviour, including blinking and temporarily showing a lower power level, is designed to optimize power distribution during intense usage. After a brief rest or downhill stretch, the display might return to a higher power level. This behaviour is intentional and ensures efficient power usage and performance. While the indicators might differ, it doesn't necessarily mean the battery is empty; rather, it reflects real-time power demands." Overall, the kit makes riding bikes more fun by flattening out the hills or making it easier to ride against the wind. You still can get a pretty good workout (especially when the base display shuts the power off) because you have to keep peddling. Also, remember this is a conversion kit so it won't be as clean looking as a regular e-bike. The plastic zip ties and extra cable length makes it look like an conversion kit, but that doesn't distract from the fun in riding a converted e-bike.

I found it difficult it to assemble the Swytch but once on it has been brilliant. Easy to use, making cycling a joy even though I live in a hilly environment .

My commute to work is so much easier with the Swytch Conversion - I love it and use my bike more at other times. I did have to chase delivery, there were a few items missing but received those after chasing, though communication was not very good. I was missing the instruction manual I eventually found it seaching on Google after struggling to fit it, I recommend to Swytch that search is improved for the instruction manuals. Reasonable easy to fit and I am not an expert on bike maintenance.

I am happy with the Swytch kit fitted to my bike, and it has been quite a revelation and surprisingly effective. I had an initial issue when the wheel snapped the aluminum forks on my older bike. I think Swytch should make this issue more apparent as it appears to have happened on a number of occasions. I was not aware of the possibility. Swytch did quickly replace the wheel as the cable was damaged and were responsive to my queries and emails about the problem. Now all is well and I am enjoying using my "e-bike" and all the benefits that come with it.

Works well. Installed on Brompton. It didn’t install as easily as I had expected. Most importantly, the battery bracket was difficult to find an orientation that worked. I manufactured my own bracket for the control module. Biggest complaint is that the motor wheel hub doesn’t freewheel. When riding with it unpowered it is a significant amount of drag. This is a big disappointment as it essentially makes the bike unrideable when unpowered.

A great bit of kit if you love your normal bike , was a bit difficult to install on my first bike but my partners was done and working in 20 min, ordering was a bit odd longer u waited the cheaper it was and then on top that price there was some import tax , which wasn’t clear when we ordered it

Great product. First one the pedal sensor broke very early on. The videos were clear to identify the problem and swytch replaced quickly with no challenges. Videoing the product to send in was tricky with only 1 person and uploading video was an issue but I got it done and I am not technically talented.

Every bike is a little different and mine took more ingenuity to get the kit on. Once it worked it was fine and the battery is a beast. It just doesn't really give nearly as much power as I was hoping. Trouble is I don't get to keep testing it out and troubleshoot as I'd like since I'm in the great white north.

I am a proud owner of a swytch bike and now would not be without it. I have had operations on both knees and am plagued by arthritis (I am a dinosaur as my children would attest). My only concern is that in terms of contact, the company do seem to be rather “at arms length”. For example; I have seen the new control unit that attaches to the handlebars that looks much better than the original but how do I get hold of one????

Outside of a long wait (& back order) of the kit, it was not difficult to install & works better than expected..a real lifesaver on longer rides especially in the Fl weather of 100 degrees plus!!!

What a difference pedal assist makes. I’m a bit disapponted by the limited range of even the larger battery…I can only get about 10 miles, even using it at the most economical settings. Support from Swytch very good, when you can negotiate your way to it…

I really liked the way I could convert my present cycle. The set up was straightforward and the whole system worked fine making cycling uphill so much easier. However the heavy weight of the motor and battery badly affected the handling of the cycle especially into bends. After a couple of occasions when I almost left the road I removed the Swytch bike equipment and went back to pedal power.

Very convenient kit, easy assembly, good and reactive support. For future updates, please consider to provide a 6 volts output plug for the bike lighting. And I would appreciate if the battery could be locked by key or sth. similar, to avoid risk of theft when you park your bike for shopping etc. In that case it would be fine if the battery could be charged while mounted.
