“Avoid Add People – Costly “Trial” With Zero Results
I signed up for Add People’s 6-week trial after being bombarded with sales calls telling me how brilliant they were. Eventually, I gave in and decided to give it a go.
It started with a slick 30-minute intro call filled with marketing jargon and promises. Then came a second call with someone who was supposed to set everything up—but he couldn’t even connect my Google Ads account. I had to explain how to do it myself.
After that, there was a mysterious two-week delay before the ads even went live. Interesting how that eats up your statutory 30-day cooling-off period—almost like it’s by design.
Once the ads were finally running (at £30 a day), I saw just one sale in two weeks. We had another 15-minute check-in where I was told the campaign was “still learning.” But I’ve already spent over £5,000 on Google Ads before—my account had done the learning. This wasn’t machine learning; it was just poor campaign setup.
I let it run for another week and a half. Still no results—just a £750 bill from Google and no return on investment. When I asked for a refund, I was told it’s a “trial,” sorry it didn’t work out, and no, they don’t offer refunds.
In short:
• Pushy sales tactics
• Incompetent setup
• Convenient delays that dodge refund windows
• Weak campaign performance
• Zero accountability or customer support
This “trial” ended up costing me hundreds, with absolutely nothing to show for it. I’d strongly recommend staying well away from Add People.”
“I wish I would have read some of these reviews before I signed my contract. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a PPC firm. The sales person I dealt with promised me certain things. OF COURSE when I brought this up to their upper management it turns out the sales person called me on a personal line and it was not recorded.
To say my Google Ads are performing poorly would be an understatement. My ROAS has dropped in half since they took over my campaigns. I've had to prod them along the way to even LOOK at my campaigns. They did NOT care that my campaigns were performing poorly.
During monthly calls they would manipulate the data and only capture a point in time were there was a slight increase in performance. Stay FAR FAR away, they try to sell themselves as a company that is there for the small business, they are not. They are there just to collect an outrageous monthly fee.
They are also hustling to transition all clients over to ACH so seems to me they are having cash flow problems.”
“What an absolute waste of money and time.
I have a small independent bathroom showroom. We provide design, supply and installation.
I was contacted by email and decided to overlook my usual scepticism with this type of service. I have been with them now for four months. I am spending £200+VAT pcm on Addpeople plus the recommended budget for Google itself which is £15/day.
So far there has been two phone calls. One was a lady looking for a replacement toilet seat - not exactly the target customer. The other I missed. I was reprimanded for missing the call by a junior account manager. Even once I accepted that I should not miss 50% of my conversions, she continued to remind me that I "must answer the phone".
They will tell you that it takes a couple of months for the methodology to settle in and show results. They will also point to many statistics that are flattering to their service - clicks per word, impressions per keyword etc etc. As we are all aware in business and especially in small businesses, there is only one metric that is relevant. Any other metric is merely a stepping stone to this one - Return on Investment. So far my ROI with Addpeople is 0%.
This is the usual online chicanery dressed up as some arcane technical methods. Total rubbish. If you want to merely have a presence show up then great, if you want leads, customers and ROI, spend your money elsewhere.
For comparison, I spent £40/week for three weeks on FB adverts and have had 10 solid leads walk through the doors of the showroom as a result of them.”
