Carpet Barn were supposed to fit flooring for my 79 year old mother on 7th November. Turns out that Amtico hadn't delivered enough flooring to Carpet Barn-which they only discovered after they had screed the floor. They now can't fit until 18th November. In the meantime my Mum's flat is in disarray. I asked for some compensation for this inconvenience as a good will gesture and was told they wouldn't compensate us unless Amtico compensated them. Makes you wonder how financially secure they are as a company? Watch this space for an update but given that we paid in excess of £6000 for this I would suggest they rebrand as Carpet BURN!

**Warning!** - Installers will damage your property; and the shop will do nothing about it. Carpets were fitted very poorly with tool & knife marks along brand new skirting boards. Carpet Barn don't answer emails, when I called in the shop I was told to come back as the manager was not in today. I requested a call back which was promised but never came. One of the sales people told me that their installers are considered 'private contractors' and there is nothing they can do. Avoid this place AT ALL COSTS. I wish I'd gone to Shaw's!!

Very helpful people for measurements but went to collect the next day and the carpet and underlay was put at my partners feet !.. so he stuggled to pick the carpet up by himself with no plastic covering on or no cardboard tube inside which meant it flopped over his shoulder, not a helping hand was offered to help him carry outside in the rain and to put on the back of the van... very very disappointed 😞

Very disappointed with their fitting and after service. Do not use for Karndean fitting. Totally ruined our flooring and would not rectify. I wish I had used an independent fitter to get a professional job at a cheaper cost.

Went to buy a cabin bed for my daughter. Paid for it to be told it would be delivered and fitted on a Saturday. Then got a phone call asking to drop the bed off during the week and they will fit it on a different day. Which I told them at the start it would be no good for me. A woman was talking to me and I could hear her manager in the background. Telling her to say things instead of talking to me man to man. What a joke. Then told me for a refund they will not put the money back in my account and for me to come and collect a cheque from them. Which I can not do as I work long hours during the week and now I have to wait for them to send the cheque in the post post. People do not use these. There’s better shops and company out there. Worst experience I ever had and been spoken too. And now I have to go and buy another bed for my daughter as we got rid of hers, Thanks for the worst service we ever had

Ive always tended to make this my first port of call for carpets - never again! A few years ago they supplied and fitted new carpets and underlay to my hall, lounge & dining room. I paid for carpet, underlay and carpet grippers including new door threshholds. I am now getting the hall tiled tomorrow with the dining room tiled the next day leaving the lounge carpet to be renewed early in the new year. I have just lifted the hall carpet to remove the carpet grippers - all in varying lengths up to 4" & 6" long, some only 1/2" long !. They had used up all their off cuts that should have been thrown away. Out of the 7 door thresh holds, 6 were not glued or pinned down - what a rip off. I am expecting a similar experience when the lounge & dining room carpets are lifted. This experience has now put me right off using Carpet Barn ever again.

I chose my new carpet in store among some samples on the shelves and paid a deposit. The estimate guy showed up and confirmed their staff would be able to move the wardrobes provided they were empty. I was charged extra money for moving the furniture and had to pay 100% of the price 3 weeks ahead of the fitting service. The shop sent 2 contractors who started the job and then said the wardrobe was too heavy. I called the shop and was replied the guy who had made an estimate had been wrong and that I could either fir the carpet around the wardrobe (!!?) or take off the sliding doors myself as the fitters were contractors and didn't accept any responsibility for any damage. The fitters left and the shop had got my money already so I had no choice but to find a third person to take off the doors! Of course my place was in a mess and I had to sleep on the floor that night as my bed was turned down and disassembled. Also, the colour was not the same as the one I had seen on the shelf, the guy I phoned up (he said he was a manager in the shop) insisted it was the one I had seen and hung up on me! The following day they sent a guy with a sample book and the colour matched the one on my floor, shame that I had never seen that sample book before as I had chosen from the shelves. They said the carpet is never the same as the samples, this one was very very different though! Awful experience, very poor customer service after the payment, now I understand the reason why they wanted 100% in advance. Never again. The contractors were nice though.
