Strongly suggest you avoid the Forsythes Self-paced TAE40116 (now TAE40122) course. It is impossible to complete as a self-paced learner as it requires at least 8 videos/presentations involving other students which is frustrating to arrange and significantly delays completion of the course. The website overview only indicates 2 presentations are required - not accurate. Online resources are also not complete, difficult to navigate and miss critical information. The actual trainers are excellent when involved - as much as I did not want to commit to joining a class (in person or virtual), if I had to do this again I would find the time to complete the course with a scheduled group and save myself the frustration and tears.

The trainer cut some corners however the majority of the group being trained had previous cet IV and above experience. In attempting to follow up with my outstanding requirements the customer service from the office staff was very poor and they tried to blame their poor performance on the trainers. Forsythes hold the RTO not the trainers.

Time management was poor, instead of practicing my acting skills over and over again for fake training simulations a bit more time dedicated to theory would have been greatly appreciated, thought I was auditioning for NIDA

Course organised poorly, mix of face to face & zoom. Little support & took over 8 months just to get first projects graded. Submitted in March 2021 not graded until November 2021.

I have to say that this training course was one of the worst I have attended in my entire life, that included more than two decades in the military and a similar time in the Commonwealth Public Service. Since retiring, I have joined a volunteer organisation and have been putting my previously gained knowledge and training skills to good use, training and mentoring fellow members. I have been recognised in this role with an Order of Australia in the Queen's Birthday honours. This was my first experience in Zoom training, and by halfway through the second of three days, I was so far behind that I couldn't retrieve my position and so quit out of frustration. Can I say from the outset that I have no complaints about the presenter, however, the course structure leaves a lot to be desired. In preparation for the course I had colleagues take me through Zoom meetings, but was not prepared for the intensity of training that I experienced. To be fair, I live in a somewhat remote part of NSW and rely on Wireless NBN for access to the net. This was patchy on occasions during my training and the speed leaves a lot to be desired. To add to the confusion, in-house students were part of the group and the presenter would switch away from the Zoom students to address these members. On the second day when I joined a group of Zoom students to evaluate our work so far, I found from others that I had made a mistake on day one and this had snowballed into making all the work that I had done incorrect and useless. I then lost my internet connection for 30 min for the second time and I had no way of contacting my presenter other than by mobile phone through Forsythe's switchboard. At one stage to stay connected I had a PC, Tablet and mobile phone all connected and trying to stay with the trainer. It didn't work. May I suggest that before you run Zoom courses, you establish with the student that they have connectivity that is compatible. Further, that you don't run mixed classes of Zoom and in-house students together. As you can see I was extremely frustrated undergoing this training and as a senior citizen, I was more than a little overwhelmed.
