“I have been wearing a pair of Lomond boots for 3 years now in my job which involves a lot of standing and walking. Having suffered from bad knees for many years I have tried many brands with different levels of success. The Lomond boots are right up there at the top of my list of recommendations for friends and family. Earlier this year I bought 2 pairs of slip ons for day to day casual use and have no complaints whatsoever with them. I have now bought another pair of Lomond boots for general wear and they are so supportive and comfortable. I don’t usually leave reviews but my satisfaction with Grisport is so high that I just had to this time round!”
“No show walking boots said the parcel had gone missing (fair enough) claimed I couldn't re order same ones as they were out of stock but I checked on website and they were still being advertised only gone back up in price. Asked for my feedback on them, got it and replied with a condescending reply on how parcels do go missing as if I am stupid and did not realise this. My issue with them is saying the boots were out of stock when they were advertising them again on their website! If you don't want customers feedback don't ask for it cos if they don't get good service they will tell you!”
“Both boot heels have become unglued. I am surprised at the construction not very good. I expected something more substantial. There is little wear to the sole. Imagine the sole as the crown of a tooth. Just a rubber tread glued to the inner sole. It's pretty poor considering the price. I expected more.”
“I bought a pair of Peaklander's a month ago. I wanted boots for local walks and comfort was my prime concern. I did consider getting non-leather boots, thinking that they might be more comfortable, but yearned for 'real leather' boots this time.
I needn't have worried. These boots were comfortable from the start, and after several walks they are even better. The fit is perfect, in spite of my feet being on the wide side, and just putting them on makes me eager to get walking. It is like walking in slippers, but with the support of boots.
I tried on a few other makes of boots in shops during the weeks before, but realised that I would have to buy online to get the boots and the size I wanted.
I was guided towards Grisport by the recommendations of "Which?". The extras (socks, laces and bag in my case) provided by Grisport were a surprise and appreciated.
In their advertising, they mention a self-locking hook for the laces (the first after the D-rings). It really is a good feature, allowing you to make the laces tight at the toe end, but a bit slacker around the ankle. Such a simple, but effective, idea.
I am certainly happy to recommend the Grisport Peaklander to other walkers.”
“Purchased a pair of gamekeeper boots roughly a year ago. Both boots developed very unusual leaks where the tounge meets body. Grisport immediately offered a replacement pair of gamekeepers or a pair of my choice. Rangers arrived and put on straight away. Comfortable, and as well built as all grisport boots.
Both boots strongly built, extremely tough, but so comfortable and supportive in the right areas without that restriction other boots have. Recommend both the boots and the company.”
“I have ordered, tried on & returned 4 pairs of boots(from that large supplier named after a rain forest) before discovering Grisport UK and their boots. Not only were they delivered in good time, the boots look exactly as described - waterproof leather, great in muddy wet conditions. Not to mention the extra's - a nice surprise and bonus. Thank you.”
“my daughter and myself each bought a pair of grisport walking shoes,my daughter wore hers for the first time when it had been snowing(not heavy snow). She was walking to work ,slipped and hurt her knee, the shoes were not gripping at all,in fact she was sliding all over the place.I thought i had better try mine for a walk round our back garden,it had been raining,i also slipped over.I returned both pairs to grisport, they emailed and said they would be returning them to me and suggested i buy some snow grips. So,does this mean we could not wear them for normal walking, maybe coming accross slippy mud or water?how silly would we look with snow grips.Very dissapointed.”
“I purchased my first pair of Grisport Hurricane walking boots accouple of years ago. They are lovely and comfortable. But I am very disappointed with the quality of the solos. The rubber being very thin has come away from the heel, rendering the boots useless. I tried to add a photo, but the site does not seem to let you. I will never buy any Grisport boots again.”
“I bought a pair of Grisport rampage boots. I have tried to wear them at least 6 times. After an hour my heals are in agony with huge blood blisters despite wearing 2 pairs of socks and bandages. Grisport refuses to refund or exchange as they have been worn. I have no idea how long they will take to wear-in, but I can only wear them for short walks without hobbling. I have bought their shoes before which have been wonderful but these boots are so stiff they could have been made of wood or steel.”
“Ordered a pair of Thunder Trekking boots, arrived and look fine (yet to be worn). Laces weren't as advertised but they are arranging for a replacement set to be sent through. Main concern is that the incentive that was advertised at the time of ordering (£30 gift pack) was not honoured and the CS team claim has only been available since after the order was placed.”
“I bought a pair of Grisport boots, they are very comfortable BUT after a few weeks the soles came away so I took them back to the retailer who replaced them for me But again after a few weeks the sole came away again, so I took them back to the retailer who refused to exchange them as I only had the original receipt. So I took them to the cobblers who stuck the soles back on but after a few days the soles came off. The cobbler said there was a problem with the material used for the soles. So I contacted Grisport via e-mail but did not receive a reply, so I made a comment on their FB page and they removed it. I have e-mailed them again but to no avail..No customer service, Boots Not fit for purpose. It is a disgrace”
“Have had several pairs of Grisport boots before with no real problems. I purchased a pair Thunder Trecking boots in Oct 2019 and due to Covid lockdown only really started wearing them on a regular basis from about April. The soles have really worn down and I now have put in gel insoles but still can feel small stones etc . They have also recently started come apart where the sole meets the leather upper. My main gripe is the company when contacted to discuss the matter never responds back. These boots did not have Vibram soles as my previous ones did. I gave 5stars when I first purchased them but can only give one star on my latest dealings. The company advertises them giving Years of Wear. On this pair I will be lucky to get 12 months. Very disappointed with boots and sevice”
