Very disappointing service. No choice given at checkout but to pay £5 for Next Day delivery which should then have arrived for xmas having ordered at midday on 17.12.25; two day delay in posting and then they blamed expected postal delay when it didn't arrive on time. Would not refund despite no choice to pay extra for next day delivery, which they admit they knew courier could not do. I actually think they have broken consumer law by misleading advertising of next day delivery which they knew could not be done. If they had sent Royal Mail it would have been on time and for £5 that would have been possible.

My latest purchase, namely, 'Shatter' is, as always, very good. A great package of extra material supporting a very average film - it's the definition of going 'the extra mile'. This is where my praise ends though. My shopping experience itself has been patchy at best from day one - from discount codes that didn't work and undelivered or damaged bespoke packaging, to 'early bird' gift items that were removed from my basket leading to me missing out on them. This has been very disappointing, but my worst experience came with Black Friday where I missed out again, this time on free postage and free quad posters due to having been a pre order customer who 'double dips' on releases that I subsequently had no need to buy again during this promotion. Since these are available from other sites often cheaper than the Hammer one, I'd suggest a 'buyer Beware' approach; I am seriously considering doing this following these negative experiences. This review has no bearing on the releases themselves, just the mediocre customer experience which a serious disc collector, who has spent more than £500 over the past year, has been faced with, on an ongoing basis. Despite several pieces of correspondence, no concrete compensation has been offered to replace polite, yet hollowly, sympathetic replies. Although I do appreciate that the customer service staff are doing their best having to follow what is in my opinion a flawed, inadequate customer service strategy.

Great product, terrible post and distribution. Pre-releases paid for well inadvance, two received a week after release date, latest one recieved two weeks after ( was inititally sent the wrong item). Refund of excessive £5 postage or voucher toward next purchase would have been a reasonable emollient.

Hammer films are classics, they are films I grew up with. They need to be seen in the best quality possible. They all have fascinating histories that need to be put into documentaries.

This was my 1st time ordering from Hammer, & unfortunately, the experience was not perfect, in that my purchase, was delayed (Curse Of Frankenstein). At £60, you expect your purchase to arrive on the 'sed' date. &, to add insult to injury, I noticed you could buy the same product on Amazon (59.99) with a promise of next day delivery. The product itself ... I don't know? I have watched the 3 X 4K versions & am not completely satisfied. They are just too 'heavy' in the 'red/orange' in the picture. I had to adjust my tv to get a picture I was satisfied with, but then had to readjust for the extras. I love Hammer films, but would I buy another product ..? No, not on the strength of this release. The price tag is just too high for a terrible looking (supposedly) 4K release. Personally, I think I will stick to my Bluray releases. Nowhere near the extortion price & all together, a better viewing experience.

While the product Hammer deliver is great, their customer service is abysmal. With their latest box set, they dispatched some days early ahead of release, while others who had ordered minutes after pre orders were opened had to wait days AFTER official release. When you complain via email you just get repeated excuses that make no sense. To try and make amends they offer you a pitiful 10% discount on orders from their site. I won’t be ordering direct from Hammer.com in future.

Delays to delivery. Package shortage? Really? Poor communication. Seems like the incentive (signed photo poster etc) was distributed at random also. Very disappointing

Quality products but shocking Customer Service. Generic automatic responses to customer concerns (‘Michael’ seems to be the only one who works there and he’s not up to the job if he’s human) and no improvement to service when issues are raised. Blame placed on others when Hammer has ample time to check that stock is in and ready for dispatch before release. No communication with customers about delays unless they contact Hammer first. Items launched early despite being on email lists resulting in launch awards being completely depleted before many have the chance to order at the advertised launch time. Order from Amazon and have a much better experience

When I thought they were doing a 4k release of Quatermass Experiment and Quatermass 2 I thought they would be doing it in colour but no it is just a slighly better picture. And then with Quatermass 2 why wasn't the BBC TV series done in 4k? It could certainly do with being clearer but no. Is Quatermass and the pit going to be in 4k? Or do you only do black and white?

The product was a good quality release and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in it. That is where the quality ends. Come the release day, there was no notice of dispatch. A few days later still no notification. I email Hammer email support to enquire when my order will be dispatched. I get an automated reply then a few days later I get reply about high volume of orders, in warehouse waiting to be dispatched. Then four days later I get a message saying my order is being dispatched with an Evri tracking number. 2 days later I get a message at 2:38pm from Evri saying my delivery will be between 1pm to 5pm. It was such short notice to arrange to be home during that time. My order was delivered just after 3pm and was left behind my wheeliebin. Next time I will order from Amazon.

Very disappointed. The Quatermass Xperiment was my first order with Hammer and my last. It arrived eight days after the release date. I received no email notifying me of any delay, I had to make enquiries myself. When I finally received an email to say the item had been shipped, there was no tracking information available and my original order status still read as "preparing for shipment." My order also did not include the exclusive patch as advertised.

I would love to review this QUATERMASS 4k set but it has been stuck in customs for a week. Am I going to even get it? You didn't even insure it and shipped it the cheapest way possible according to USPS. Also, I ordered it the day it was listed but it didn't even ship until a week after the release date.

I can't give a higher review than 2 stars. My parcel from Hammer was despatched with Evri, who told me they would not deliver the parcel and that I should apply to Hammer for a refund. I did so and bought a copy of the bluray from HMV, then returned home and found Evri had delivered the original copy while I was out. Hammer have said they will refund my money once they have the spare copy, which I'm happy with. However, as long as they use Evri, I won't be ordering direct from them again.

The products are excellent and the best versions you will find but my main issue is the way they released Captain Kronos. I bought the first original collectors set with 4K discs which I wont use, and would have bought a bluray only set. They then release a bluray only set minus a few things following the original selling out. Not a great idea by them as now I will wait till every collectors set sells out so I can get the bluray only sets and if there isint one the question will be asked, "If they did it once why didnt they do it it again?" I wish they hadn't released the separate set as it will cause problems in the future.
