What a thing of beauty.
I must have seen the film dozens of times and have the previously available bluray.
This restoration is remarkable.
I see details I'd never noticed before.
The beautiful crisp black and white photography has never looked better.
The sound is much improved too - gone is the 'clunk' as the film starts.
It will take a good while to work through the plethora of extras but I started with the surviving 2 BBC episodes of the original TV series. I have the boxset of the 3 BBC series and even this primitive recording looks far better.
I've already pre-ordered Quatermass 2 4k box and am hoping for Q & the Pit to swiftly follow.
I'd also love The Devil Rides Out.”
