I accidentally entered the wrong booking details through Booking.com and selected Melbourne Airport instead of Avalon Airport. When I contacted the driver, he told me he was still happy to pick us up but it would cost $120 total. I specifically asked if this meant we had to pay an extra amount on top of what we had already paid through Booking.com, and he confirmed yes.
We were then told our original booking would be cancelled and refunded, and we could just pay him directly instead. After being dropped off at the hotel, I contacted Booking.com regarding the refund and was informed there would be NO refund because speaking directly with the driver made it a “private agreement.”
The most frustrating part is that the booking instructions literally said to contact the driver directly for details, which is exactly what we did. When we called the company, their response was basically “that’s not our fault.”
Very poor communication, misleading process, and terrible customer service. Ended up paying far more than expected with no accountability from anyone involved.
Would of been cheaper to catch a taxi as booking.com charge me $63.10 and then HD cars global charge me $120

“We were driven by Isko, he had great communication before the pickup service showing us where to meet and how to get there. He was on time and a great driver. Isko went above and beyond, carrying our luggage and even giving us complimentary gum and hand sanitiser. The car smelt and looked brand new. Isko even set up a translation system to make the ride more efficient for everyone. 5 stars!”

“Had the absolute misfortune of being allocated HDGlobal cars to collect us from Melbourne Airport, Our plane was late, customs were late, there were also phone wifi issues. Aside from this we were within the allocated wait period.
When we found our driver we received a tirade of angry abuse.
His anger continued throughout the drive with periods of road rage.
It was totally uncalled for.”
