I felt this training was a bit disorganized and confused in its mission.

I wish there would have been more hands on training. I didn't have any questions during the training but I know I will when I get into the applications and start trying it out myself.

My two day class did not have enough students, Ledet offered either a one day 1-on-1 training or to reschedule, I really needed this training now so I picked the 1-on-1. It was not nearly enough time to actually cover everything in the class and should not have been offered as a class replacement option.

My colleague attended this course in March with a different instructor and learned so much. Her instructor took her through the Adobe InDesign Classroom in a Book, using the files to create a variety of documents. My experience was quite different. While it was clear this instructor was very knowledgeable, we did not actually start working in InDesign until 2:30 on the first day. I think since there were participants in person, as well as online, and was a full week course, with the beginner portion only lasting the first two days, it probably made it challenging for the instructor to determine which information was pertinent to give only the first two days. Since many of the in person participants were taking the class the full week, his pace was probably great for them. Since I was only taking the intro the first two days, I wanted to actually dive in and learn how to add text, images, etc. Instead we spent hours on settings and beginner information regarding file types (GIF/TIFF/JPG) and project setup. We learned about RGB and pixels, and how to search Youtube and Google for information about InDesign, but I would have liked to have that information be more of a mention rather than a full on lesson and had more of an opportunity to work within the program. I plan to work through the book on my own, as the trainer said he does not like using the book but it seems pretty informative.

For a time commitment of almost a whole day as a full-time working adult and for $399/person, I don't feel the time was well spent and I think we only covered maybe 30-40% of the content in 7 hours. The instructor was not "world class" by any means - she was disorganized, condescending, scatter brained, and seemed consistently frustrated with us. She even kept calling us by the wrong names or wrong pronunciation, she rolled her eyes on several occasions, and spent way too much time on helping the person in the class who kept falling behind.

The teacher was very knowledgeable, and good at explaining. She needed to speak up louder and project; several people in the class could not hear her. It is also helpful if the instructor is on their feet more and, almost as soon as someone has a question, goes to see the person's screen versus having to ask several questions for the instructor to walk over to help. She was also late on both days. If an instructor is late, she should offer to use lunchtime as an alternative to make up time versus the evening when people already have priorities after the class ends time.

I would recommend it for someone who just wants to learn the basic mechanisms and has money to waste. For the high price and not having a re-take option or have the recording available for practice isn't worth it. I feel like I didn't learn much. I took a class with Training Connection which was 5 days for the same price Ledet offered. I was able to take a free re-take within 6 months and even got an actual book, and not like the virtual one Ledet provided. The instructor WAS AMAZING though! He was the best!

While the trainer was very knowledgeable about Photoshop, I personally had a hard time.

The materials were good, but the graphic design was very unaesthetic and hard to look at.

I was not satisfied with this course for a number of reasons. Firstly, the email with the Zoom link routed to my Spam/Junk email where I accidentally found it a few days before the training. Other attendees did not arrive until 20 minutes after the course started due to not having received the Zoom information either; the presenter sent the Zoom information from a personal email address. It was not made clear in any of the communication to have Captivate downloaded in order to attend the class; I spent the first 45 minutes waiting to download from the Adobe site. There was communication to download an eBook for Kindle from Amazon and the instructions to download Captivate could have been included there. We did not use the eBook at all, although the email stated "YOU MUST BRING YOUR eBOOK READER, WITH THIS eBOOK DOWNLOADED TO IT, TO THE TRAINING CLASS WITH YOU". Having to download using Kindle was also not convenient and there is no easy way to download an eBook to a PC. A PDF would have been better.

Too long and it is just following a book which i could probably do in half the time on my own.

Instructor simply read from the workbook and because it was a new workbook she kept getting confused and having to backtrack. She should have started each section with a description of what it was and what it could be used for.

This class was so poorly run, I can't imagine any of the others would be much better.

1) We were advised to arrive at 8:45am for a 9:00am start time. The instructor arrived after 9 all three days. 2) The instructor was not well-versed in the material. He had and outdated book compared to ours and had to ask us questions when he couldn't find something. He also couldn't figure out how to build the sofa model. He started it, fumbled around while we worked on our own, and then jumped ahead and opened the ending file to show us what it should look like. He also didn't know how to use a reference image and spent 30 minutes trying to find it, while I just googled and figured it out in minutes. 3) I was asked before the class what I wanted to learn/get out of it. None of those were addressed and when I asked the instructor didn't know. 4) The teacher was nice and answered what he could, but he didn't know much. The course book taught me how to do all of the exercises and I worked ahead.

When I first received my course manual for Captivate 101 in the mail, I was excited about the outline of the course and the way the material was to be presented. However, the instructor that led my online training did not go through the book at all. The training skipped all over the place, and, more importantly, the instructor did not utilize the manual or the resources we had been instructed to download. I was told that if I wanted to take the next courses that are part of the Captivate Boot Camp I should familiarize myself with the book and the downloads on my own time as other instructors might expect me to be familiar with what was in the training as written. I could have purchased a course manual and gone through it on my own time and not paid $1000 for an online training. Because the instructor did not go through what the book had outlined it was difficult to follow along. He spent a lot of time on formatting text boxes, making fonts look a certain way, how to create color schemes, etc. While these skills are not entirely useless, I did not sign up for a course in graphic design. Day Two was spent entirely based off a screen recording the instructor had made in Adobe Photoshop. I do not have an Adobe Photoshop account, nor do I have need for one, and so I could not follow along and do what the instructor was doing. The entire day was spent with the group watching the instructor do everything, unable to follow along and try it ourselves. Very few people are able to learn by watching six hours' worth of videos. There was no need for me to be a live participant in this course; the students were rarely asked for our input - or asked any question other than "Does that make sense?". I could tell that the instructor knew the content. He was very knowledgeable. However, his ability to teach was incredibly lacking. He would do better to follow the curriculum that has been given to him, and not try to design his own course. I was incredibly disappointed in this training, and would hesitate to spend any more money with your company. If it were not for the course manual I received, this training would have been an absolute pointless endeavor.
