“Therapist gave off bad vibes all around. Seemed to not even be interested in doing therapy. I would bring up personal events that happened to me that I think are significant, and he would just reply with a canned response that had little to do with the specifics of what I said. He also seemed convinced that the solution to my problems would be me copying all his personal habits, which clearly wasn't the case. For example, I explained how I used to be addicted to videogames and used it as an unhealthy escape. Very next session he throws out suggestion that I start playing video games again, mentioning that he just played a game himself. Felt like I was paying for antitherapy at that point. Besides that, the point of contact was for some reason dishonest about the service not being covered by insurance. He said cost would be $100, but discounted to $65 due to deductible being met, which clearly wasn't the case, and it was just that the going rate was $65 per session. Seemed like a small and insignificant point at the time, but in retrospect I don't think it was wise accepting service from a company who's representatives lie so readily. Gave it 2 stars because there were still some helpful things I learned, but really it was all stuff you could easily learn from a psychology blog. The experience wasn't personal to me, and not at all worth the money.”
