“A bit of a wait for my Christmas present to myself, but this was clearly explained when I ordered. This was due for my late ordering, the additional work required for the serrated edge and Christmas shutdown.
The limited edition Tomato knife with a glorious red handle with stem green liner just looks the part. Cuts like a dream without any 'mushyness'.
The Bread knife in my signature yew handle with blue liner matches the rest of my Savernake Knives collection. Homemade bread, a bit brick-like to be honest, was no match and perfect slices made.”
“Our very attractive custom made knife arrived just in time for Christmas dinner. Too bad it couldn't cut butter or anything else as we were not advised that it didn't come sharpened! We chose the standard sharpening option. A room full of chefs, cooking school friends, etc., not exactly what we were hoping for. We did try to make contact with Savernake, but they haven't replied.”
“The Savernake website grabbed my attention on a search for two new knives; I loved the style, the backstory and the owners clear passion for their trade. I also wanted something unique, that would last a lifetime, look great on the magnetic rack and finally, British made.
I love the Nakiri shape and versatility but have a large Global already so opted for the Nimble Chopper. I also do a lot of BBQ and joint prep' so wanted a good boning knife, the 5" Boner fitted the bill and I opted for the palm-swell you get with the contoured handle option for extra grip. The custom knife section gives so many options to create a truly unique knife.
Delivery was around 6 weeks which was fine, you're investing in a bespoke, hand-made piece built from scratch so it's worth the wait. Updates via email on the production progress ease the pain! The final article is stunning, beautifully crafted, great to look at and super sharp out of the lovely packaging.
These are not cheap knives but the pleasure of owning, for a lifetime, will be worth it. Savernake offer after care services to make this a reality. These knives are lovely to use and their performance flatters my average knife skills but makes each kitchen task a joy. Thank you savernake.”
“Brilliant service from Savernake Knives as always, thank you. Their stylish, expert craftsmanship is in a league of its own. And the customer service from Richard and Tracy in particular is extraordinary, they are always happy to go the extra mile.”
“I picked up their small nakiri style nimble chopper, their eponymous larger nakiri style knife, and a breadknife. All three are beautiful, balanced and comfortable to use. The ergonomics make it easy to use them for longer chopping jobs, and they're wonderfully light.
The last thing to say is that these knives are the sharpest knives I have ever owned, and they retain their sharpness better than the knives I have from other sources. I really love these knives, and use them pretty much every day.”
“These guys are amazing, this is my third purchase and i couldn't be happier. Their obsession with all things knife really shows in the finished product. After sales service is also impeccable”
“Amazing knives, from a British company. Great information and a fab selection. You can engrave your knives for free, and even the off the shelf collection come with a choice of cool handles.”
“Excellent purchase. Knife is exceptional. I thought the online purchase process was excellent and was impressed be the additional layer of security for proof of age etc as I was buying a blade. Unfortunately, although clearly marked Royal Mail posted through my letterbox without proof of age or signature. Not Savernake's fault but poor from Royal Mail.”
“Smashing service as always from the Savernake team, very easy to find exactly what you want and of course a beautiful product. Highly recommend these knives”
“I have long been tempted by Savernake's advertising, the design, functionality and quality all seemed exactly what I was looking for. I guess what put me off was buying one without actually having in in my hand first. I need not have been concerned. I have collected knives for our travels all around the world, Japan, Argentina , Mexico, usually direct from the makers always taking a very long time to decide! I took advantage of their recent £50 off offer to buy a limited edition Stratus Nakiri. Very bright stylish handle that now stands out on the rack from various bone and wood handles. Basically, it looks fantastic. Most importantly, as soon as I took it out of the box, it felt comfortable in my hand. The sharpness is the equal of any of the multi layered damascus blades that sit alongside it and I have no doubt it will be a lot easier to care for. It is a genuine pleasure to use.”
