“I love the concept of this and the pricing is much better than other rental options I’ve looked at. I’m trying to be more ethical with my clothing choices, plus it’s a chance to try new things I maybe wouldn’t if I had to buy them. However the website is challenging - the search function isn’t good and there’s no way to search for available clothes in your size, so it takes forever to find stuff you actually want to add to your rental box. I’d love to keep using this long term but I think the frustration of struggling to find items might ultimately mean I cancel after a few months.”

We are so glad you love the concept, we are a start-up so we are ironing out a few issues and appreciate any feedback from our customers. We are currently experiencing a high volume of orders and therefore dispatch times have been slightly extended, however we are sorry you felt the delivery was too slow.
As we work on the rental basis, new items come back into stock everyday from our members return. We are looking how we can add more stock to accommodate stock levels.
Finally, we apologise that two items came without their belts, this is something that we will flag to the warehouse team to ensure they are sending out everything complete and in great condition.

“This could be brilliant but at the moment it's just missing the mark due to not having enough stock so most things I want aren't available and there's no timeliness on availability. Also the website is not good to use. Delivery takes a long time so you can't plan on what youre wearing to an event coming up u lessnits still weeks away. But on the plus side there's lots to choose from (in theory) and the customer service is good, the clothes I've had so far have been great quality and in perfect condition, often brand new. Returns are easy and its nice being able to keep an item an extra month if you're loving it. For me this is a bit too expensive to be able to do regularly, I'm happy with the initial reduced price but when it goes up after 3 months I'll struggle to stay”

The website team are currently working on upgrading some features to ensure a better UX experience, so we appreciate any feedback on how it could be improved. As there was an influx of customers over the festive period, this did affect our stock levels, however as items come into stock each day when rentals are returned we hope that this will mean there is always stock available.

“Delivery of order took 5 working days instead of 2-3 and one item that I ordered (a coat) was severely creased and smelt a little bit fusty with marks.

“I like the Devout, it allows me to wear brands I can't really afford to buy and to try out styles I would never have looked at.
It did take me a few months to start to understand what sizes and brands were right for me and I usually have an item per box I don't really love once I put it on. Swapping items is a bit of a bother if things don't suit you and costs £10 to do, which is £25 of the monthly fee for 3 items. Additionally, there is not a huge selection and website is really not great! Not at all a good user experience. I recommend Devout do some UX research!”

“I absolutely love the idea, and have had some great items, but of the 3 each month it's usually 1 or 2 I can actually wear due to sizing or pictures on the site not being much like the actual item.”
“Great selection of clothes and fantastic eco concept. Delivery much quicker than expected. All very easy to order. I'm a little dubious about whether the clothes had all been cleaned as a jumper appeared to have toothpaste on the sleeves and there was a tissue in the pocket of a dress - this was disappointing.”

Areas to focus on:
1- The packing has to improve. The box was too big and it looked like the clothes had been thrown in it. They were not folded properly and were all wrinkled and looked shabby. I had to steam them.
2- More choice. The items I want are not available in my size. For this reason I may cancel my subscription in future.”
“This was my second order, I love the service, I do the 3 item subscription which is a bargain given the brands they have and it helps me experiment and have more fun with my wardrobe sustainably which feels like a win/win.
The one thing that was slightly concerning was that the box came and the clothes were loose in it and wrinkled, which made it feel like they may not have been cleaned beforehand. Given Covid etc. this felt odd. I know they are minimising packaging but there are minor stains on the trousers i noticed when I was steaming them and that’s also worrying.”
