I have had an extremely frustrating experience with TouchNote. This was my first month of membership and one of my two cards never arrived. It was supposedly resent and an agent assured me it would arrive last week. Still nothing. There was an issue processing my debit card to purchase additional cards (my bank assured me it was with their system since the transaction didn't even appear for them) which I had to talk to three separate agents to try to resolve. I waited for my membership to renew on the 30th so I could send out a few important birthday cards since I wasn't able to purchase them separately only to find that my renewal date was pushed back from the 30th to the 1st and then the 2nd. I just checked my account and now I apparently have no premium membership...no email saying there was an issue processing my payment. I am very disappointed and frustrated and was relying on this service to help keep in touch with friends and family while living abroad.

Touchnote just wiped out 25 credits I had paid for. Watch these people - they are tricky... I won't say I was swindled as that would be technically wrong no doubt, as I am sure they hide (sorry provide) their cancellation policy in their regularly revised 'small print'. Trouble is - this is not obvious when you buy. So after I had bought credits (always open ended purchases, after all I had paid for them - they have my money) they introduced a 'premium' membership. Really just a way to get you to spend monthly... I signed up for this for the free six months on offer as they said the credits I held (which I have been buying in advance for years btw) would be lost if I didn't. So today I find the 25 credits have gone. It's all over, like a bad affair. Don't go near these people. What was at the beginning a great business and service is now a shell of its former self. PS they will say they warned me my credits would go. but they made this policy up after purchase. Why not offer me a refund you might ask? No. there will be lots of people like me. They'd much rather keep the money. Tricky people these.

Do NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. ok I used the app for a year on my android phone whilst I was abroad and was happy with it. I had left over credits which I thought I could use on my next holiday. Then they introduce a date limit for your credits to be used by, but that expired my credits before my next holiday. So that was money down the pan. If they want to start a date limit it should have applied to new credits sold, not existing ones, so you knew what you were buying. I then bought some more credits for my holiday. Tried to use to send cards, but found the app no longer worked on my phone which is the only bit of kit I travel with. Seems they no longer supported my version of android. But they refuse to give me a refund Just keep quoting a 14 day refund period. I didn't go on holiday and found their app was useless within that 14 days. Duh.. Totally unacceptable.

If you wish to send a "one-off" card then Touchnote may be for you. It is not particularly cheap but it works well, particularly if you are overseas. But - and you have been warned - never subscribe to a park of cards. Why?, because TouchNote encourage you to buy more through a discount scheme and the cards have an absolute life of 12 months. Unlike other organisations that "restart the clock" as you use the product, TouchNote simply removes any unused credits from your account. Yes, I accept that you could be on top of this but if like many you take one annual holiday a year, you are likely to find that they expire before you get a chance to use them and do not expect any good customer service from TouchNote. I for one will never use them again. Their customer service is truly the very worst I have ever experienced. They are rude and totally disinterested in helping Customers. If you proceed I hope you are not let down as I was. My advice there are far better companies on-line who like to build a true customer experience and offer similar products.

Had an email for two free postcards so after a lot of faffing about with various email addresses finally managed to get signed in and create cards for grandparents (on holiday, on tiny screen on phone, at night). App was very jittery and kept asking me to add more photos all the time so was signing in and out all the time. When it finally did the postcard I just wanted it send and pressed the paypal button. Little did I know, that was a sign up to a 12 month subscription at £39.99 14 days down the line. Being on holiday, wasn't checking emails, just happy that cards had been sent. Coming home you don 't trawl through loads of old emails for cards you have sent, do you? 14 days later, on the dot, got an email from paypal to say I had been charged £39.99! Contacted company and like everyone else says (there are a lot of negative reviews), got what seemed to be a scripted response telling me I'm not getting my money back. Currently looking into reporting to trading standards.

I should have read the other reviews before trying out the trial cards. I was not too thrilled about the process and not seeing the cards being sent, the clumsy app, etc. Forgetting to cancel during the trial period, I notified them immediately on the day the charge was applied to my card for the annual membership to tell them I did not want it. I have received nothing but ‘sorry, too late’. I am not even sure whether the person replying is a human because the answers are the same each time. I asked to speak with their superior and the answer was the same. Absolutely horrible customer service, I have never seen anything like this. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS! I would have given ‘no stars’ but that was not an option.

SCAM _ BEWARE Do not use this service. The company charges your credit card without authorization and the customer service rep, ANA, is rude and refused to refund the unauthorized charges. In addition, she refused to put me in contact with a supervisor and told me not to correspond again. Here is her response: I am very sorry you continue to be unhappy. Whilst we never wish for a user to be left disappointed I fear that I must now draw this correspondence to a close as I will be unable to provide you with the outcome you hope for. This matter will not be escalated as my decision is final. Kind regards, Ana Customer Support Specialist Executive Office

Touchnote use a credit based system, with credits expiring after 12 months. They will neither refund nor extend them, so if you don't use up your credits your money is lost, i.e. they are happy to steal from you. Companies that force you to buy credits first before you can buy the actual product put profit before the customer. Credits hide the true cost of your purchase, and trick you into thinking you've bought something. Furthermore, once they have your money they can do what they want, including letting them expire without actually having sold you anything. Invariably you will forget that you have credits sitting in your account, and when you finally remember chances are it is too late to spend them, or you don't have time or a need to exchange them for the actual product. Touchnote is no exception to this. They do send you reminders that your credit is about to expire, but when you have no time or need to send a card at that moment in time your money will be gone. You might as well have burned your money, or chucked it down the drain. They justify the need for expiring credits with ludicrous excuses such as not being able to provide you with good deals (the more credits you buy the cheaper they become). Sure, discounts for bulk buying is nothing new, but there is not one single reason why they need to expire, just because you've bought them in bulk. Their explanations and justifications are a masterclass in clever marketing language, hiding anti consumer business practices behind positive sounding language. For example: if you subscribe to their monthly Bronze premium plan at £2.49 a month (billed annually, so not a monthly plan at all!), one of the perks is that you get one free card a month. The truth, however, is that you do not get a free card at all—you're _paying_ for it, at the costly price of £2.49! To put that in perspective: the smallest credit bundle you can buy costs £9.95 for 5 credits, that's £1.99 per credit. It doesn't take a genius to work out that your 'free' card costs 50% more than if you were to buy the 5 credits bundle. Furthermore, you 'free' cards do not roll over, so if you have no card to send in a given month, or you simply forget, bye bye £2.49! Another 'perk' of the premium plan is that additional cards 'only' cost you £1.99 each… see the problem here? No saving at all compared to just buying the smallest credit bundle! The Silver plan fares no better: Silver gives you 2 'free' cards for £3.99 a month (again, billed annually) so that's still £1.99 each, while additional cards only costs you £1.50 each. who really sends more than 2 cards _every single_ month in order to make this worthwhile? Because remember that in order to save 49p on a card you first have to spend £47.88 (annual billing) in order to get 2 'free' cards a month. The Gold plan, at £7.99 a month (once again, billed annually) is where you finally start to see some savings on your 'free' cards (oh, the irony) as you get 6 of them at only £1.33 each, but apart from the fact that you're getting fleeced on the free cards, the real sting in the tail here is that additional cards costs £1.25 each, hardly any saving at all compared to your 'free' cards, and a saving for which you have to fork out a whopping £95.88 in advance. You have to ask yourself here: do you really spend £96 on postcards and/or greeting cards every single year? Is it worth spending £96 in order to get a 25% discount on postcards that otherwise would cost you £1.99? Do you truly send at _least_ 6 postcards _every single_ month? The worst thing about the premium plans, however, is that suddenly your credits do _not_ expire any longer! So it is, in fact, _entirely_ possible to not let purchased credits expire after all, Touchnote have simply moved this behind a paywall! It is also important to note that while your credits don't expire on the premium plans, the 'free' cards _do_! In other words, if you do not send your 'free' cards within 3 months on the Silver plan (6 months on Gold), you _will_ lose them, so you're basically paying £3.99/£7.99 a month in order to get a marginal discount on any additional cards. Let's take a closer look, shall we? If you don't use your 'free' cards, on the Silver plan you'd have to send at least 8 cards _every_ month in order take advantage of the 49p saving per card (£1.50 per card instead of £1.99) and to recoup your £3.99 investment. On the Gold plan it's even worse: you need to send at least 11 cards a month to benefit from the 74p saving per card (£1.25 per card instead of £1.99) and to recoup your £7.99 investment. That's a _lot_ of postcards to send every month! Sure, you can buy bigger bundles to bring the cost per card down, but even on the biggest bundle the cost per card only drops to £1.67, and that will set you back a massive £149.95—money you risk losing if you don't use up those credits within 12 months of purchasing them! Of course you can (try to) take advantage of the rollover of the not-so-free free cards, but that really piles up: 6 cards every quarter on the Silver plan, and 36 (!!) cards every 6 months on the Gold plan, before your money goes up in smoke. Even if you could save them up until the end of the year, who really has more than 24 people on their Christmas list, let alone 72? And remember: they're _not_ free cards! You've paid £48 (Silver) or £96 (Gold) for them, that's a lot of money to spend on postcards! When Touchnote first appeared on the market, there were very few, if any, companies that made it possible to send old fashioned postcards from anywhere on the planet where you have an internet connection, right there and then. Times have changed, however, and Touchnote are no longer unique in what they offer; there is plenty of choice in the market, as is evident from this very website. Do not fall into the credits trap, and do not believe in the premium subscription fallacy! Stay away from Touchnote at all costs, and buy your cards from companies where you can pay with plain old money instead of credits. The savings gained by purchasing credits are minimal; only serial postcard senders are likely to see any real benefits without the risk of losing their money. For the rest of us: you've worked hard for your money, not to give it away to some company who puts profits before the customer. If, in spite of all this, you still think Touchnote is a good company to go with, at least the print quality of the cards is nice, so they get one star for that.

I had an awful experience with this company. My advice would be to read and consider the T&Cs carefully before even contemplating sending a card with them. You cannot just send a single card for £2.99 without being charged for a whole year's membership (the benefits of which are unclear!) and this is automatically renewed annually. Customer service is appalling. They just want your money, and are not interested in their reputation or satisfied customers. There are better companies out there - Moonpig etc who I would trust more than this company. My advice - AVOID or beware their misusing your data and RIPPING you OFF.

Touchnote deceptively advertises their premium service and the refuses prorated refunds when they deliver something different. All their photos and the card on the app looks one way, and then the card they send out has their logo re-inserted and the rest of the format jumbled. When the I objected they used the excuse of American postal regulations and they have the right to send a different looking card. Do you really want to have a company sending things to your family and friends when they believe they have the right to change it first? It would be very easy to show what their premium service postcards would actually look like BEFORE one places an order. Since they don't, they should be willing to give a prorated refund. Instead they trap you into paying for a year with their fine print contracts. Their "customer care" person is currently abusing the Trustpilot site by flagging all bad (yet honest) reviews so they will be buried by the time Trustpilot gets around to reinstating them. A company that spends more time hiding their poor practices instead of fixing them will likely go out of business soon. Be careful in sending your money to Touchnote.
