I recieved the grill as expected. set up and performed the initial burn in all went well was super excited about the Quality of this grill. I have had 2 different Traeger grills and one Camp Chef cabinet style smoker with variuos issues erroring out, hot rods constantly going bad ETC. For the first cook I wanted to do a brisket, fast forward to the next day seasoned the brisket and fire up the smoker set the temp to 195. Down loaded the fire bord APP put the brisket on the smoker and let it do it's thing. fast forward to the next day everything seamed to be working great, wrapped the brisket and turned the heat up to 250 degrees and let it go, Then came back 45 minutes later and the smoker was rolling out black smoke and white smoke from the controller area and hopper. i unplugged the machine and took it off the patio in case the fire got bigger. and tried to smother the fire. Called customer service and was able to get ahold of tech support to talk about what happened and he wanted me to hook the machine to wifi so he could look at some things after expalining to him that plugging this machine in was probably not much of an option and that anything short of replaceing this smoker in whole was not acceptable he then told me to contact the selling dealer, they do not refund or swap out entire smokers. but yet one would expect that when you spend this kind of money of something that is supposed to be quality would atleast make it throught the first cook. Now waiting for the selling dealer to contact me back to see what story I get here. Very Disappointed in yoder I thought they built quality product and stood behind them and would not offer to rebuild a brand new smoker that has caught fire on the FIRST COOK!!!!! Ok. Yes Yoder sent me another grill after the first one burned up on the first cook. Took over a month to get the new one and to no surprise. Total pile of garbage. These guys have an issue with these things running away with temp. They want to say it’s a grease fire but the second grill caught fire after five cooks. They again said it was a grease fire. Ok. Not likely. This grill you set to 350 which is the preset temp once you turn it on. And it goes well above 450. Then maybe it will settle down and cook at the temp you want. But if you want to smoke a steak for awhile then turn it up it takes for ever to bring the temp up. Don’t waist your money on one of these grills it is the biggest disappointment I have ever purchased. And now talking to others who are having the same issues with there’s have actually offered to give me there’s. Now that is all you need to know. Look anywhere else. These are absolute garbage.

Ben, We are very sorry to see that your maiden voyage went the way it did. Rest assured, our team will work with you to create a solution that will get you back cooking. Customer service will need to understand how the grill was set up and get some detailed photos of the interior to determine the root cause of the issue. From there, they can create an action plan to take care of you. Our team is actively trying to work on your case but will need some additional information from you. We want every customer to have a great experience. In the event something goes wrong, our team will work tirelessly to address any issues.

Purchased the smoker spent almost 2900.00 on it. Get it home perform the burn in as specified instead of the set temp going to 350 it went to 475 and stayed there. After the burn in shut everything down let it cool down and started it up again. Set the Set Temp to 175 again the temp went to 265 and basically stayed there. Shutdown again, started it up and immediately set the Set Temp to 150 currently at 196 after 1.5 hours. Was supposed to do a cook starting in 3 hours. I have owned 3 Traegers, 1 Green Mountain and 2 RecTeq's over the last 30 years and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a smoker. Called support and left messages, also left messages with the company I purchased it from and no response. Guess my family BBQ with 44 people will not be happening tomorrow.

We received Terry's messages after hours on Friday evening and promptly returned the calls Saturday morning. After reaching Terry we were able to address the issues positively. We hope Terry is loving his new pit!

I bought this dream smoker 2 years ago and I can honestly say the only thing spectacular about this product is the body and quality of welds. I have to constantly reset to factory settings and now that’s not even working. I vacuum the area around the igniter before each use so I know it’s not me. I guess I bought a huge black lemon.

Will not control temperature close to set point. Temperature span runs 20-30 degrees below and then rises to 20-30 degrees above set point. It never settles in and holds close to set point. Customer service says it is working normal. After complaining they finally sent me a new temperature transducer which did nothing. I am very tired of dealing with customer support that keeps telling me nothing is wrong. They sell a product under false claims of performance, then won't support it when it fails to meet their claims.

I purchased a Y6640 S about a year ago, from my first cook I have had nothing but problems. After about the 3rd cook I noticed some drops of grease on the bottom shelf, I looked at the under-body of the grill and noticed grease buildup from the two bolts nearest the grease bucket. These bolts were installed at the factory NOT when I assembled the grill. I called Yoder customer service and they instructed me to re-caulk the bolts. for the first 4- 5 months I didn't have any other issues, then about month 6 , it would have huge temp swings,35-50f swings that would hold for at ;least 30 minutes before settling down to set temp I again contacted customer service, they assured me this was normal. it also would not go down to 150f even though it clearly states everywhere advertised it would, when i asked customer service i was told the grill would not go down to 150f and to use the top shelf because the lowest the grill would go was 175f. The next issue was the trap door, it warped even though i NEVER ran the grill higher the 400f with it installed. This was replaced without issue until it warped again about a week ago Then the fans, the fans stared going out about a month ago , they made high pitched whining noise. Those were just sent out for me to replace After all of the above , i had enough, I spoke to customer service several times and expressed my frustration and felt I should not be making all these repairs on a grill that wasn't even a year old and OVER $2300 .That went nowhere, I asked that the manager of the plant call me, this if course never happened. After the 3rd or 4th email asking a manager to call me finally I was provided the VP's info, I spoke to Joe the VP, nice enough guy, we went through the issues and he assured me he would make things rite including replacing the grill if needed. Joe and Joey ( customer service manager) went through some of my cooks and picked out the ones that did not have huge swings (even though i sent several with huge swing) and decided the grill was fine and I would just need to keep repairing the grill. Bottom line, i really wanted to buy American made and thought I would in return have something my kids would enjoy after I am gone. especially when your spending this kind of money. Yoder may have had a good product at one time and stood behind there products, those days appear to be gone. I strongly suggest spending your money elsewhere. After these next round of repairs I plan on selling the grill for whatever I can get for it and purchase a Lone Star Grillz

worst back yard investment I have ever made. didn't work right from day 1. neither the company or the retailer are taking accountability for faulty product. all they offer is to send parts and ask me to try to repair. have spent 6 hours replacing parts and it still doesn't work correctly. they refuse to fix themselves or replace the product. save your money or buy from another manufacturer
