I had a heart attack whilst in New York…
I had a heart attack whilst in New York on a cruise just over a year ago. Zurich left us stranded. We had to pay for hotels whilst I was unable to fly home, taxis to and from the hospital etc and the flights home. They did absolutely nothing to help making the situation 10 times worse! After about 9 months they paid some of the claim but not all of it. I had to go to the Ombudsman who told them to pay giving a deadline of last Friday. They still haven't had the decency to pay. It looks like I might have to go through the small claims court to get a CCJ if they are not going to comply with the Ombudsman
Avoid Zurich like the plague a totally immoral company!

“My car Bottomed out on a collapsed verge in Conwy. I luckily had dash cam footage of the accident. Conwy Council fobbed me off with excuses that they couldnt open my attachments (on windows media player). Eventually handed to their insurers Zurich, who are complete cowboys. They rejected my clain despite footage showing a 9" pothole filled with water. They claim that the Council checked the road 4 months earlier and they were unanware of any issues. I replied to Zutrich explaining that the Council had clearly putt 3 cones there at the affected spot rather than repair it. These cones had been obviously been hit by cars and they were further back in the grass. So a complete lie. Good insurance Companies want to pay out on genuine claims, but Zurich acted like complete cowboys, leaving me to take Conwy to small claims court, which I will now do. But what a faff. Cowboy Companies like this don't deserve to survive. They have since ignored all of my emails.”

“I have been on sick leave for stress and anxiety for over a year. As a benefit, my employer provides an income protection policy to employees which would supposedly pay about 75% of my salary after being on sick leave for 6 months. I unfortunately discovered that the insurer, Zurich Insurance, was unwilling to make such payments for various absurd reasons. They first claimed that I was on sick leave because my relationshiip with my employer had deteriorated and not because I was ill, even after my psychiatrist and GP had provided evidence of my condition. I appealed their decision and filed a complaint for the slow pace at which the claim was processed. This unfortunately did not make a difference as Zurich has cotinued to drag their feet and continue to ask for more and more information. It has been over 6 months since the claim was opened and I still have not been able to get a benefit which was supposed to alleviate the financial burden during my recovery. This situation made such benefit useless. I have been placed in a very difficult situation where on top of trying to recover from my mental health issues, I also have to worry about money.”
“I've spoken now three times to Zurich one of which I spoke to a very lovely helpful lady i cant fault her, the other two times I got a lady and a man he, Richard Ford who was very rude condescending and very unhelpful. Having to have to deal with the result of damaged belongings is bad enough but to then have to put up with rude horrible people who can't be bothered to talk to you even after sending a email stating if I need to ask something to get in touch. So if you want a friendly helpful insurance company don't go to Zurich, as they will make things a lot more stressful for you.”

Zurich insurance quickly made a reasonable offer for the residual value of the car (which was above what Ithink it would fetch if sold before the accident), sent a recovery vehicle to tow it away the next day and followed up with the paperwork without much hassle on my part.”
