I purchased this cage for my Syrian Long Hair hamster and he absolutely loves it. It gives him enough room to run and play. If you flip the front panel upside down you will be able to add enough bedding material to make a great habitat. Yes it is wood and hamsters chew but if you create a stimulating environment your hamster will not get bored and chew through the cage. I would defiantly recommend purchasing this cage if you want to give your hamster a good life in captivity.
