“Okay I couldn’t believe there were soapberries!? I was a bit apprehensive but they are honestly fantastic, such a nice clean smell through your clothes. And it makes me so happy that they are compostable after they’re used. My only thing is that you’ll need to tend to more heavier stains with a stain remover paste, as the soapberries I’ve noticed dont cut through it all.”
“We live off grid in a tiny house with a reed bed grey water treatment system them let’s us recycle our grey water on our garden. I have a young child and husband that works a very physical job getting very dirty uniforms. Before this life I worked in the laundry in hospitality so I have very high standards for washing. These things work! If it’s a very dirty load it’s best to use a warm wash and since learning the trick of a tea spoon of bicarbonate sofa and a few drops of essential oil in the washing powder trey I love them even more because now I get that clean fresh smell with every load.”
“I absolutely love using these soapberries and cannot recommend them enough. I've found that they are at least as effective as commercial detergent (and if not, it's only because they're far better) and would recommend them to anyone looking to improve their environmental impact. While the clothes I wash aren't heavily soiled, I find that the berries really do a great job in cleaning everything and leaving clothes feeling fresh and clean. They also leave towels feeling incredibly soft.
The soapberries don't really have a smell; I'd describe them as slightly sweet and a little bit earthy, but I honestly prefer this to the (what I find to be) overwhelming scent of commercial detergents. If you want your clothes to have a scent, you can always throw a little bit of essential oil/laundry tonic in with the load.
