“I used the red copper first and then this to cover my greys. Followed all instructions.. even enjoyed the full day effort, didnt mind the earthy smell but Sadly now i just have orange roots in my dark hair . The greys at roots went super copper and this chocolate didnt cover the copper. It looks terrible when i go into the sun, so needing to wear a hat or scarf for now to cover and im so disappointed :(
On the plus side, it made my hair lovely and shiny and feel so healthy, so it was nice as a treatment.”
“Really like this hair color. I haven't coloured my own hair for years as I usually have it done at my hairdresser. I found the instructions easy to follow, it was easy to apply & the final color is wonderful. If I decide to continue to colour my own hair once isolation is over I will definitely be using this again.”
“Just loved the result of this beautiful hair dye. Covered my greys well and left my hair soft with a lovely warm chocolate color and a hint of coppery highlights. It is more time consuming then chemical dyes but well worth the effort. I have short hair and had so much paste left over, would be great if each step came in 2 sachets so that those with short hair wouldn’t have to waste so much of this wonderful product. Next time I will divide it in half first!”
“It was quite messy to apply so be well prepared before you start! The smell wasn’t too bad, and was pretty much gone after the first wash. I have quite dark hair so I didn’t notice too much colour change, but it felt very soft the next day.”
“This is the best natural colour Ive ever used. It works just as well if not better at colouring my greys than the normal conventional colours and I have alot of greys. Will last 6 to 8 weeks.
It does take time but I see it as conditioning my hair. Love this colour not too dark.”
“I got the box of dye a few weeks ago and tossed it in my bathroom cupboard, as the instructions were a bit daunting. Well lo and behold a few months later and it seemed like now was the time to try as I didn't want to go to my stylist with covid 19 around. I started at the beginning of the instructions ( completely forgetting the previous dauntingness!). It became clear too quickly and too late that I used the wrong prep for max grey colour....oh well! Forge ahead as daughter was here to muck it on for me :). I left it on for 5 hours which did get a bit tedious but there was no scratching, itching or irritation whatsoever. I used water and acv in the mix. Overall the results are very impressive. Time will tell of it's staying power. It's bit red for me and I wonder what I can do next time to cut the red a bit? Mix with tea instead of water? Anyway I'll definitely try again altho I see Walnut Shadow is sold out, I might try a medium blonde colour. Thanks for a great product!”
“I had read other reviews { and how ‘prep’ heavy this purchase was } but after navigating through the complicated instruction just once, I feel like it’s simple now! And will become easier the more you do it.
Cons: You will smell pretty Earthy for a bit, and it’s a process to do if your having a fair few hours or a day of ‘me time’ at home.
Pro’s: No harsh chemicals for your hair, no ammonia smell as you dye, the colour is really rich and beautiful. Definitely covers greys!”
