Buggy, inconsistent responsiveness, sketchy altimeter, lost one of my rides even after it had been saved. RAM seems insufficient for tasks such as re-routing, I’ve seen watermelons more agile. Can’t seem to find a way to show heart rate during Climb Pro - when it would be a good idea to monitor one’s heart rate.

It'll suddenly go black, and no matter how you press it, it won't turn on.

Beyond my expectations. Makes riding even more fun with live segments, climb and corner warnings and easy touch screen mapping and controls.

I bought the Edge 840 for MTB navigation in the bush and not for the fittness training attributes that it does provide. It takes a little while to learn to find and use all the menu options for navigation and map viewing. I did download the Australion Topo map from Garmin. It made me confident I will never get lost in Australia and 10 meter contour intervals are great. Battery life is good, you can use the GPS all day confidently. The touch screen is usefull for map viewing and selecting different menus. No problems with its accuracy. I don't think anyone purchasing this unit will be dissapointed.

Great interface. Climbing and maps could be a bit more accurate. But happy with the product.

After using the Edge 840 for about a month, I've found it to be quite a learning curve to navigate. It seems Garmin doesn't provide much training for the 99bikes staff on how to use the product, which I think is kinda understandable. However, the staff at 99 Bikes were helpful in guiding me through the purchase process, and despite the initial hurdles, I have no regrets about my purchase—except for the dent it made in my wallet. Overall, the Edge 840 is a solid product once you get the hang of it.
