Shift Sleeper Sofa Reviews

It's the sleeper sofa that works the day and night shift with equal grace. First things first: Shift makes for a stylish, supportive couch that can fit just about anywhere, because this is Burrow, and so of course it comes in easy-to-manage boxes that you can fit up steep stairs and through narrow doors. But it really shines when you have guests: the seat unfolds to make a genuine queen-sized sleep surface, and the arm cushion inserts can be removed and slipped into standard pillowcases, saving space in your linen closet. With Shift, you're truly be the host with the most.

Both as a sofa and a bed, it's quite firm, which is how we like it. It opens into a queen-size surface with a very slight difference in height between the halves. A mattress pad, which we haven't bought yet, will probably make that difference undetectable, but our daughter and her boyfriend were already very comfortable.

Super comfy, especially in bed mode, and ridiculously easy to put together. Was able to do it solo with no issue. And on top of that it looks great and is much easier to switch between being and couch and bed than a normal sleeper sofa. I absolutely love it!

1 BR? No problem! Living in the city, investing in high quality furniture helps maximize your living space. This is the shift sleeper sofa, it can be quickly converted to a queen-size bed with stain resistant fabric, plus the pillows are already included! So when we have guests over, we’re assured that they’ll be sleeping on a comfortable and cozy sofa bed.

A standard sleeper sofa would not fit down my staircase with a 30” inch door. The design of the Shift Sleeper makes it easy to put anywhere. Assembly is pretty simple. A little patience always helps. We had a minor issue with one of the panels. Burrow followed up right away and shipped the parts to correct the issue. Nice product and excellent customer service.

The color and fabric were as expected. Putting it together took a bit of time with two people but it all seems solid. The couch is a bit low but adequately comfortable. So far it’s the only piece of furniture in our new home so we’ll use the bed when we’re there until we move our furniture in. The bed seems comfortable. It will work well in our family room and will be used for occasional guests after our move. The delivery was later than the window given but when I asked about it the responses were quick and helpful and apologetic. It arrived about one week later and I do wonder if it had just been forgotten until I contacted them.

Purchased for a tight space in an office/guest bedroom. I found the sofa to be mostly as advertised--delivery, color, assembly, function. The original photos I saw led me to believe that the sleeper surface was elevated somewhat by short legs, so I was a little disappointed when I realized it would be flat on the floor, which would be a problem for guests with mobility issues. I was able to assemble the sofa alone without too much difficulty. Only surprise was the strong, pungent smell when I removed the sleeper cushions from their sealed plastic bags. I let the cushions air out overnight with windows open and fans blowing to make sure it wasn't going to be a permanent odor. That took care of the odor but it made inserting the cushions into their covers the next day a little more challenging as they had completely inflated. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase as it suits my needs for now and is reasonably sturdy, attractive, and comfortable for both sitting and sleeping.

Pros Convenient for sleeping Fairly easy to assemble (needs two people) Bed seems comfortable Color (blue) is bright and attractive Cons Doesn’t look super polished (but is good enough) Fabric feels a bit rough (not lots but a bit) Bit of a weird smell at first (went away fast and wasn’t super chemical) I’m happy with it overall, it checked the boxes of non toxic, affordable, sleeper and comfortable that we needed. I wish it was a bit more attractive and that the fabric felt nicer. DO NOT be like us and lament that it feels terrible to sit on right after assembling- lol. It’s gets MUCH better when the foam has had time to expand.

When I ordered the sofa I got a shipping notice and saw that it conflicted with a trip. I asked to have the sofa shipped later, but was told it was impossible, but eventually they said they would ship it at the end of the possible shipping period, but I could also set up a delayed delivery with FedEx. While I was on my trip, I saw on my home security that the sofa had been delivered, left in the snow, just as I feared. I had to arrange someone to come over and move the very heavy boxes inside. I could not set up a FedEx delay, because I didn't have a tracking number. Because I got NO shipping notifications or delivery notifications. The sofa did not take a few hours to assemble, it took my husband (a builder) and I the entire day. It is not comfortable. I do not like it and it was a bad experience overall.
