The poles are rather flimsy and buckled when a gusty storm passed by. I replaced them with corner-braced 2x4's and a more positive connection to the outboard end of the awning. But if you are willing to take them down and reel in the awning at the threat of foul weather, I suppose they are fine. The awning, overall, I think gives a good bang for the buck.

Terrible product, no stars. We bought a manual outdoor awning, a year ago, and it’s been horrible. The arms that support it broke, we had to buy replacements and then the new arms didn’t hold it up the same as the original, so we bought the vertical support poles. More $$ than we’d like. When it completely dies, we will be throwing it away and investing into a structure that can withstand a Midwest winter with either a removable roof or a metal one.

I went to install the arms today and the nut (or threaded block) which is supposed to slide into the awning is to large and also cross threaded. Also the adapter on the end dosen't see like it is the correct one for my awning.

Hello Joseph, I'm terribly sorry to hear about that! Could you please send some photos of this to our customer service email hello@alekoproducts.com so we can work on a resolution for you.
I’m sorry , I have not even opened them yet as I cannot get the awning to operate properly. I have been corresponding with your customer service rep and making adjustments on awning but it is still not working right.

I purchased two pairs of these (four poles total) to add support to the previously purchased Aleko awnings they were made to be used on. The overall quality of the materials and telescoping mechanism seems sound and functional. However; there was a problem. All four of the rectangular-shaped attaching nuts that come with the poles, which are meant to be placed into a sliding track on the awning were too large to fit the track. I had to use a grinder to shear off enough steel on the nuts before they could be installed properly.

Hello Daniel, Thank you for your review. I am happy you like this product but truly sorry to hear you had to adjust the nuts to fit your awning. If you have any questions please call us at 833-926-2323. Thank you.
The poles are very difficult to extend and they slip down with the weight of the awning. And speaking of the awning, I made a terrible mistake when ordering and then trying to install it on the side of my garage. The first rain we had (less than 0.10 inch) the awning nearly collapsed because the water pooled in the center and bent the pole tops. After the awning cover dried I tried to rewind the awning and the side braces would not retract. I had to force them back by hand and tie them with wire so they wouldn't open again. I'll be removing the awning and discarding it as it is no longer of use to me. I have to assume that, at this time, a refund is out of the question. And, the instructions are as bad as the unit!

I already sent Aleko something regarding this. Aleko needs a boost in their design team, and a little better Quality Control team. I've had to redesign a few items from Aleko so far. I love the overall design of their products, and I certainly love their prices. This last item I purchased (poles) has an issue with the pin location on the poles. Once the floor ring was screwed to my deck the poles would not turn and lock. I had to shorten the pole bottoms. Relocating the pins would have worked also.
