“Excellent platform with pretty much all the tools you need. Very efficient for what you need to do. Only downside is accessibility to customer service. I believe this is to keep prices down. All issues are raised via tickets. It would be nice to be able to call and speak to a human when you occur problems. Overall, it's a fantastic platform.”
“I have used Sierra Chart for several years and some things I love, and other things not so much. First, the positive- Sierra Chart is extremely customizable - you can create charts in varioius forms including time, tick charts, renko, better renko, uni-renko, and more. You can choose any time frame you wish. I love that I can have drawings from one chart carry over onto my other charts - for example if I am drawing lines for support and resistance on say a 60 min chart or my TPO chart, those lines will automatically show up on my 5 min, 2 min, 1 min, etc. as I want. It is easy to create alerts based on conditions or indicators using their simple alert system - you can even create an auto trader using this. Sierra is generally fast and responsive although I wish there were an easier way to clean up files and delete old set ups/templates as the only way I have found is to go into the file in you files folder and remove them. I do find some charts run slowly such as TPO and my larger time frame chart where I place multiple time volume profiles. I have little negative to say except 2 things -1. It is impossible to get a live person if you need assistance, although, I will admit that their online support board is generally pretty quick to get back to you. 2. The cost is a bit high and I actually have been considering switching platforms because of that. I use Sierra Chart thru AMP brokerage (whom I love by the way!) and since I use volume profile, TPO charts, and footprint charts, I need to pay for package 11 as well as for the CME data. AMP does office the full package for Quant Tower charting and I have been considering switching to them.”
“Sierra Chart is hands down the most performant, powerful platform for the price - on the planet. This does come with some drawbacks - in that the user inferface/config options can be a bit overwhelming at first. There is without a doubt some learning curve, but well worth it in the long run.”
