“The good - very stable, uses low system resources, simple to use once set up, good support
In between - can be used on multiple machines, eg laptop and desktop, reasonably easily; great 3rd party software available for copying trades to other brokers/prop firms with very low latency
The bad - a steep learning curve, especially for younger users who have grown up with a more intuitive Windows interface. Not so bad for users of a certain age.
Definintely worth the perceverace to get set up though.”
“SC is the only platform where I can create high-performance trading tools using C++. It allows full customization over the interface and graphics, which is unavailable elsewhere. I use a custom risk management and position sizing tool that I coded that would be impossible to code on any other platform (I tried!).”
“I’ve been using Sierra Chart for quite a while now, and it’s by far one of the most powerful trading platforms available to retail. The Denali Data Feed is exceptional: fast, reliable, and provides excellent market depth data. Teton Order Routing has also been outstanding, with low latency execution and stability.
That said, Sierra Chart is not a platform you master overnight. The learning curve is deep, and it took me nearly a year before I felt truly comfortable with all of its capabilities. However, the time investment has been well worth it. The customization, performance, and flexibility are second to none. If you’re willing to put in the effort to learn it, Sierra Chart is an incredible platform for serious traders.”
“Sierra Chart is a professional grade trading platform. It is very customizable, which makes it about as flexible as anything I have ever seen. Due to how customizable, it could possibly take some extra time to become familar with it and get things setup the way you like them to be, but once you get there its a great system. It also has built in copy trading should anyone need that functionality.”
“I am happy with how Sierra Charts works on my PC, but very unhappy that, unlike Trading Charts, there is no cell phone app that would allow me to receive alerts and trade on my cell phone. And of course, I liked Sierra Charts better when it was free.”
