“I am using this with a 12" Yankee Droll mesh peanut feeder, filled with suet nuggets. The plug fits perfectly and the cage prevents does prevent Starlings. My only wish is that the top of the cage had smaller openings. The Grackles quickly figured out how to stick their heads down through the top of the cage to eat the top 4" of the suet. I have solved this by leaving four inches empty from feed at the top,”

“Grackles and red wing blackbirds cannot get to the seeds they go round and round trying to get to the seed ports. I clipped a 12” tray feeder at the bottom to keep seeds from falling on our lawn. Best thing you can but for your smaller birds.”

“Unlike many of the cages for tube feeders, this one can't be twarted by grackles as its large diameter prevents them from reaching through the openinings. The price is on the high side of reasonable however.”

“I tried three of my feeders to fit in the cage, and all of them were too long. You could not put the floor base of the cage on, because it was almost two inches too short. I’d have to cut down the wire tube feeder or put the other one in without its top cover but then I’d have to figure a way that the rain wouldn’t get inside. Black zip ties work well to connect the bottom to the cage. If you have a feeder that showed enough. Some reviews said they never put the bottom on and I bet that’s why that it was too short.”
“These have worked wonders for me. I have about 14 that I put up every Feb through late June to get rid of all of the grackles that I have. Smaller birds access their food without incident and in peace! Often I don’t use the bottoms BUT when I do I have found that using dual hook tension springs works great to attach the bottoms to the cages (purchased from Amazon) and provide very easy on and off as needed.
