“I sent it to my mother in law for mother’s day as sadly her son my husband that was passed away suddenly 5 years ago this Easter . So it’s a really difficult time for her . Thought it was a bit different to flowers .”
“The biscuit itself was gorgeous and my mum loved it however the delivery was shocking. It stated on the website to order by 1pm on Friday 29th for Mother’s Day delivery. When I ordered the day stated for delivery with the standard delivery charge of £3.50 was Saturday 30th so I went with it. It did not arrive on Saturday 30th. I received a delivery notification from Royal Mail on Monday 1st to say it had been delivered. When I phoned to speak to customer services about it I found out that apparently in the ts & cs it states that delivery on the specified day is only 95% certain. I admit that I didn’t read the ts &cs before ordering but even if I had then I figure I would have probably ordered anyway as I would have thought the chance of being in the 5% was quite small. My real issue is the way I was treated by customer services. The girl I spoke too was curt with me and basically told me I should have not taken the basic “cheap” delivery option and I should have paid for the £7.95 DPD next day service if I had wanted to guarantee delivery in time for Mother’s Day. My objection to this is that everything a saw led me to believe the standard option would get it there on time and if I had paid the price for the DPD service then it was nearly the same cost as the biscuit! Finally I got a phone call from my mum on Friday last week to say that she had received the biscuit that day - not Monday as the delivery email said! I understand that this is a Royal Mail issue but The Biscuiteers need to be aware of the shocking service they are providing.
Safe to say I will think twice before ordering gifts from this company again - especially when ordering for special occasions which are time critical.”
