“Living in the Ozark mountains, surrounded by thousands of acres of forest, the views are gorgeous, but the persistent and creative critters are not. Solved my raccoon in bird feeder issues, but, until finding and installing these straps, no luck keeping them out of the trash. 1 strap worked for the longest time until a very strong and persistent raccoon pried open the lid from the side. I had to install two straps to, so far, keep them out. 1 suggestion, make a 2.0 version, which I'd love to demo on my 3 cans, that modifies the lid routing plate to accept a "cross" patter of straps, 1 vertical and one horizontal. Modify the rubber strap to have two of the hexagon "locks" at either end and no loop. If available, I would have likely gone that route for my enormous critter. 4 stars only because it required not one but two straps, to, so far, keep them out.”

“I can see it can do its job well. Howevee, caviat emptor. Our garbage container is one not compatible with this product as it turns out. Just check thoroughly. There was not any way to know this and the site brands the product as being universally compatible. Since we ordered two of the product, with the intent of using in both of our cans, we had to use both on just one, and we were not able to secure the drilled in screw from the inside of the can as the instructions say. It's hard to explain, turns out our containers here in my village are odd. Anyway, having made due with the product as best we can, it has stopped the critters from opening the container. Job well done. I do sleep better knowing racoons aren't opening up and feasting , and letting in flies which created a gross mess as you can imagine. Thanks for reading.”

“My order arrived quickly and well packaged. The strap was easily installed on my can. It is sturdy and strong; keeping the scavenging pests on the right side of the bin - the outside!”
