“I spent many hours researching engagement rings online, even showed various options to my girlfriend to get her feelings on what she liked. We both really liked this setting and it also allowed me to select the exact diamond that was put in the ring - that was the best part about buying from Brilliant Earth.
My girlfriend sent me pictures of her hands/fingers on grid paper with rulers along the top and side of the paper. This allowed me to take various diamond shapes/sizes (dimensions are NICELY shown on Brilliant Earth) and I could scale the diamonds down to fit the rulers, then place it over her finger to see how the shape/size would look. 3/4 carat oval was perfect for her fingers.
I then filtered the lab-created diamonds and didn't just buy the most expensive, but was able to look at detailed videos of all the diamonds to select one that had the oval diamond bow-tie effect I wanted. So I got her the prettiest/sparkliest diamond that fits her fingers perfectly, set it in platinum for durability (she also prefers silver over gold), and since the diamond was lab-created, I didn't have to go into debt!
After the ring came in, even though it had lab paperwork for the diamond and the whole thing had a separate appraisal, I tested it with a diamond tester, and it is for sure real. I highly recommend doing your research and buying online from a place like Brilliant Earth, you will then know it was money well spent, not money stolen by a salesman.”
