I bought 12.9-inch iPad Pro (3rd Gen) keyboard on preorder the second it was announced, and was very optimistic given the reviews of prior generations. I waited 5-6 months for them to release it, and was willing to pay such a high price $170 with my high hopes. While the actual KEYBOARD is awesome for typing and adds some key missing features of Apple's keyboard case (backlit keys, function keys, etc), the rest of the experience is extremely lacking. First, why they aren't using the smart connector is beyond me. Instead, they rely on bluetooth (which has reconnection issues of its own) and you have to externally charge it too. Second, the keyboard is literally the same size as the ipad...and the ipad is substantial on it's own. Now I have a combo that is thicker and heavier than a darn Macbook! The entire portability factor of an ipad is now gone. This brings me to "well why don't you just take it out of the case and use just the ipad?".... The hinges. The dang hinges. They are such a bad design, I can't believe they actually released this with them. They don't automatically line up, so one could be closed and the other 'open' and you need to manually align them to get the ipad attached every time you want to take it out of the case. They also have these rubber pads in them in order to protect the ipad...but they already tore once and had to be replaced, and the replacements are near impossible to install since they have adhesive on the back and it ends up not allowing you to get it attached correctly. Now the ipad won't fully insert to the keyboard, and is always misaligned. I really REALLY wanted to love this. I'm surprised the market doesn't have more/better options, and I had high hopes for this case. However, I just can't recommend it and mine is just gathering dust now.

Not sure if it’s because I got one of the first ones made early on, but I can’t even use it & I waited months for it! The plastic tabs break very easily and have scratched my iPad in the back & the prongs literally have to be forced to move and they don’t align right at all because some parts of the plastic are still there. Disappointed. If I were organized enough, I’d return it for sure. Also- it’s super heavy.
