Again, I write a review as my initial review was not posted as of today. Not surprised. I'll see if this one gets posted. Customer Service is horrible. Unable to speak with a live person as no telephone number is provided. If you want to return an item they make you pay for sending it back which on the keyboard for iPad Pro 12.9 inch 2018 model was $18.00 to send by UPS ground shipping. On top of that they make you pay a restocking fee which is 7.5% of the cost of the item. In my case will be almost $15.00. Costing a total of $33.00 to return an item that cost me almost $200.00 including the tax and shipping.I tried to cancel the order prior to it being shipped but was denied due to the fact the order was sent to the warehouse already and I was informed they could not contact the warehouse once the order is sent out. So now I'm being penalized for changing my mind about an item by paying $33.00 to return an unopened box. Unbelievable. I suggest to be absolutely sure you want any product before purchasing it and plan on keeping it. If you change your mind, you will truly pay to have it returned. I asked to at least have the restocking fee waived and as of now I haven't heard any answer on that. For having such a horrible customer service experience I would never order any Bridge product directly from Bridge again. Have no issues with their product but if their customer service is lacking and you have spent a good penny for their product, their customer service should be of high quality as their product and they fall very short in that area.

I can't remove the iPad anymore for fear of getting it back in. The little rubber pads that are part of the hinges on both side, are completely ruined already. Contacted customer service to see what my options are. Worked great for 3 weeks...

Overall I really like the keyboard and the typing experience. Con: weight, it’s very heavy; swivel didn’t hold all the time as others have noted, and it gets it does get annoying; interchanging viewing is cumbersome at best. It’s best not to mess with it too much. Clamp pressure is very strong but will mess with your screen protector if you have one. Pros: great typing experience; does have a laptop feel; Apple Pencil is tricky as it falls off often(Apple Pencil issue) but the total package would be better if there was a secure place for the pencil. Thus far I’ve tried the Brydge, Logitech, and apples own keyboard case. All have pros & cons, but overall I’m not thrilled with any of the three.

(Writing this after 1 month of use) Overall I love this keyboard and would definitely recommend it over any other option to anyone who wants their iPad to be more like a MacBook. However, I had a fairly cheap ~$50 keyboard from Amazon to hold me over before this one, and I have to say the function keys on the cheap one are significantly better than the Brydge Pro. I don’t why Brydge wasted an entire function key for checking the battery when you can check it on the battery widget. Same with the dedicated function key for bluetooth pairing. I wish they had used a combination of keys for pairing instead. It just feels like such a waste. My cheap keyboard had dedicated keys for cut, copy, and paste, as well as a volume mute button - all absent from the Brydge Pro. Admittedly, yes, cmd+x/c/v work, but not everywhere in the OS. I find myself having to tap the screen and manually click copy/paste sometimes, which drives me insane. Also, on the cheap keyboard, cmd+space would bring up the iOS spotlight search no matter what app you were in - I REALLY yearn for that while using the Brydge Pro. Lastly, this might just be me, but I feel like this keyboard is slower than the cheap one. I only really notice it with the Lock and Home button keys, but there is a noticeable lag in response from the iPad than with my cheap keyboard. But again, design and build quality are so great that I’m still glad I bought it. Keys feel great to type on, the backlighting is solid, and the hinge has worked perfectly for me thus far.

I’m not sure what happened to Brydge, maybe the success has gone to their heads and they’ve loosened up on quality control. My keyboard arrived with a dent in the body, no charge, and signs that it had been used before it was shipped to me. This is pretty disappointing considering it was over 8 weeks of waiting for it to arrive. Let’s also add that the hinge is loose, and easily tilts back just from the weight of the iPad Pro [12.9” 2018]. They keys are loose, with poor travel, and the action of typing feels squishy. The keys themselves are louder in se than the keys on the Macbook Pro, or the Magic Keyboard made by Apple. It’s feels like typing on a 2011 Macbook Pro, had the Macbook Pro been made for sale at Wal-Mart. Not to mention the keyboard is so cramped that unless you’re a ‘hunt and peck’ typist you’re going to find yourself constantly tripping over your own fingers while typing. When it comes to colour matching, where Brydge had shined in the past, the colour of the space grey is noticeable darker than the same colour on the iPad. I suspect that experimenting with their ‘limited edition’ black version was really a way to recoup costs from R&D in trying to match the space grey aesthetic. The shims themselves that hold the iPad in place tend to become compressed when inserting the iPad, often requiring multiple attempts to get the tablet to fit in correctly. The cover that comes with it uses surprisingly weak magnets, and it falls off constantly. It’s best to bin it from the start, before it decides to take off on it’s own. When it comes to backlighting it’s horrible - they say it has 3 levels but really you have 2 (on/off), because the difference is negligible between the three. In addition to this the majority of the shortcut buttons do not work consistently. The packaging was of poor quality, barely securing the keyboard into the case. The amount of sliding around/jostling that had to have taken place during shipping is likely where the damage to the product came from while it was en route to me. Let’s also talk about how long it took them to ship it to begin with - I originally was fine with the waiting as long as they got the product right (they clearly failed at that), but they also were constantly giving the keyboard away to Youtube, Twitter, and Instagram, accounts for literal months before pre-orders even started shipping. Not a couple here and there - an amount that seems equal to half a full production run, while customers whom had already paid continued to receive messages about delays in shipping. I attempted to have a return process started but was told I would have to pay a restocking fee, and despite 3 emails asking for an RA number to start the return one was never provided. Ultimately I ended up filing for a chargeback with my bank, as the customer service department simply ignored my requests to start the return process and responded with what seems to be copy+paste pre-written responses. Every message to customer service also took between 3-4 days to get a response, which I have a feeling they do intentionally as a means to run-out-the-clock on processing returns. Last Brydge has every intention of abandoning this product as soon as September comes around. They made a version with a built in trackpad that they released an image of, letting Apple know if they added mouse support they would make it. They knew for months before releasing this keyboard that Apple has every intention of adding mouse support to the iPad Pro (or at least they knew enough to make a working prototype), and almost immediately that the story broke they began to deny the prototype even having existed (good luck erasing the image of it off the internet, Brydge PR team). I could continue, and detail about the false battery life claims, or the overall poor construction, but I’ve written this review using the keyboard and really do not feel like adding another hour of correcting the errors it creates by doing so. Go with the Logitech, or even the flimsy Apple keyboard cover - you’ll be very glad you passed on this. If you’re deadset on buying a Brydge keyboard for your iPad I’d strongly recommend waiting until they dupe a bunch of Kickstarter chumps into pre-ordering that one in a couple months.

Update regarding my interaction with customer service.. I am told (via email of course) that as a courtesy they will waive the restocking fee which brings my cost down from apps. $33.00 to almost $19.00 to return this item. It would've been nice if Bridge sent a free return label for their customers. But it is what it is. Again, no issue with the product. Hope in the future Bridge gets a telephone number where consumers are able to communicate with their company. Maybe it's not a big issue for some people, but it was for me.

Everything about this case looks great – the space grey makes it look like a new macbook pro, the viewing angles are an amazing upgrade from the other ipad pro cases that exist, but the actual keyboard (the most important part) is faulty. As I type this review, I've had to go back and fix multiple errors due to certain keys not registering a press. There are certain keys that don't register more than others, however any key at any time stop working. I'm not sure if it's the actual keyboard, the bluetooth functionality, or what, but it also seems to be affected by how fast/slow I'm typing. This would be an easy 5 star rating if everything worked properly, but you just can't have the most important part of the case not work properly. Super frustrated I spent my money on this product.
