LET ME START BY SAYING I INITIALLY HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THE BRYDGE 12.9 KEYBOARD FOR THE IPAD PRO 2018. I RECEIVED AN ADDITIONAL ONE AS A GIFT THEREFORE I NEEDED TO CANCEL MY ORDER(6/1/7/19) WHICH WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. I WAS TOLD THROUGH EMAIL( AS YOU CAN NOT SPEAK WITH A LIVE VOICE SINCE THERE IS NO TELEPHONE NUMBER FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE) IT WAS TOO LATE TO CANCEL SINCE THE ORDER WENT TO THE WAREHOUSE AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO CONTACT THE WAREHOUSE.TO STOP THE PROCESS EVEN THOUGH THE ITEM HAD NOT SHIPPED OUT. I WAS TOLD TO WAIT UNTIL IT IS SHIPPED AND RECEIVED AND CONTACT THEM TO PROCESS THE RETURN AND DISCUSS A WAIVER FOR THE RESTOCKING FEE. I RECEIVED THE ITEM ON 6/21/19, EMAILED THEM TO RECEIVE A RETURN LABEL ON THE SAME DAY. THEIR RESPONSE IS THEY ARE EAGER TO ASSIST AND WILL RESPOND IN 28-48 HRS. SENT THEM ANOTHER EMAIL TODAY AND RECEIVED THE SAME GENERIC MESSAGE. I WOULD ADVICE ANYONE TO MAKE SURE THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT BECAUSE TO TRY TO RETURN IT FOR WHATEVER REASON WILL BE A LIVING HELL. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH UNPROFESSIONALISM DEALING WITH A COMPANY. TO SEND THE SAME GENERIC MESSAGE WHICH DOES NOT ADDRESS WHERE OR HOW TO SEND IT BACK IS THE WORST. MY ADVICE WOULD BE TO LOOK AT A REPUTABLE THIRD PARTY SELLER TO PURCHASE THEIR PRODUCTS WHERE IT WON'T BE SUCH A HASSLE TO RETURN. SO VERY DISAPPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED. WAS COMPELLED TO WRITE THIS AS I STILL AWAIT TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER.

While I absolutely love my new keyboard, there is one very serious weakness- the rubber shims holding the keyboard in place. One month into owning the device, the right hand one is already ripping, and the left is showing serious signs of wear with normal use. Hopefully Brydge starts selling replacements, otherwise I’d bet i a week or so my very expensive keyboard is going to be able to hold my iPad Pro in place at all. It’s more than a little worrying. Other than that, the typing experience is amazing. I love that I’m actually able to sit with my iPad in my lap in my favorite chair and type comfortably. Plus, it makes working on a plane SO MUCH BETTER. As someone who writes using an iPad, this (other than my soon to die rubber grips) is one of the most enjoyable keyboards I’ve used in a very long while.

Yes this keyboard “was” the best keyboard of all time. When i fist got this case i really liked it Until i just cracked my ipad from opening it up. Just a small spider crack down the bottom edge. I just knew when i first put it on that it was just way too tight for it. And sooner or later just too much pressure where the hinges hold on to the ipad cracked it. Even when you just have it in regular laptop mode you can see the light bleed on a black screen where the hinges hold on to the ipad. I still really like this keyboard just beware that the ipad is very fragile and becomes way more fragile when you put it into this keyboard. Now i gotta buy a 450 dollar screen now thanks.

Pros: - Good build quality - long battery life - multiple viewing angles in both laptop mode and movie mode - love the space gray color to match iPad - shortcut keys - backlit keyboard - auto sleep/wake Cons: - quite heavy - not super easy to put IPad in and out, (sometimes if not pushed in all the way IPad will not sit flush with keyboard when folded) - keys can be “squishy” often you may have to really press on the key to get it to register, if your coming from a MBP butterfly keyboard, will get some time to get used to - On my keyboard the indention on key F is fine but on the J key you can barely feel that its there. Took longer than expected to get to me, mainly due to the unusually long time it took for Brydge to process and ship-out my order, and a day delay by Fedex. If you can I suggest you order from Amazon or other retailers, as Brydge’s customer service can take days to respond. When I complained about the delay I got quite a rude response saying they’re not responsible for the delay of FedEx, which I understand its out of their control, but what was completely in their control was the 3.5days it took them to process and ship out an order, that was in-stock and shipping when I placed the order through their website. Would’ve ordered through Amazon had they had it in stock when I placed the order. Had I waited for Amazon to get it in stock, I actually would’ve gotten it earlier. It is really an excellent product, shame the same cant be said about their customer service, hence the 3-star rating.

I had patiently awaited the release of the keyboard for the new iPad. I bought the Apple version while waiting on the release. After receiving the Brydge, im very disappointed. Went back to the apple keyboard. Although overall I Ike the Brydge, i cant close apps by swiping up as the keyboard is too thick and doesn’t allow me to close the apps very easily at all. In fact I have to open the screen to well over 90 degrees o do so. Very frustrating to me that something so simple and so important for the functionality of the product to be missed. My previous version was awesome.

Before: ipad air, logitec canvas keyboard. Great setup. Switched to ipad Pro to get rid of carrying macbook and ipad while traveling. Pre-ordered 12.9 inch ipad pro 2018. Once received installed without any problem. 1. At first the hinge system feels like light-ish. But that is not the case after using for a month or so. Keep in mind: when removing ipad from keyboard, to use as tablet, pull it 90 degree perpendicular from hinge to remove one side first than rotate slowly so that the other side releases with a slight pull. 2. To re-attach ipad make sure the hinges are aligned even as they are when taking ipad out. Make sure the are 90 degree perpendicular again to the keyboard and connect ipad in the hinges by pushing it slowly, not to firmly, into the rubber hinge and make sure you have it in all the way. Close ipad and make sure its aligned as perfect as possible by moving it if necessary. Especially with ipadOS coming up it looks very promising to be the perfect macbook replacement. I do not miss mine at all. Oh, and the weight. Yes its heavy compared to no keyboard at all but its still lighter than the less sturdy Logitec. Compared to Apple pro keyboard its little under 300 grams heavier but for this you gain a aluminum keyboard which will last much longer... and gives you the ultimate laptop experience in stead of just a possibility to enter text by typing. Start to memorize the key combinations for ios12, iosPad will have even more, and off you go.
