Refurbished Steelcase Amia by BTOD, Black Frame Reviews

4.6 Rating 236 Reviews
The chair arrived in a timely manner. Easy to assemble. The chair did have an issue with the cylinder dropping upon sitting on chair. Called customer service and there was an easy tweak to a screw under the seat. The lapis color is beautiful. Cushion is very comfortable. Great support. Very happy with the refurb steelcase chair. Would highly recommend for anyone needing a good durable ergo chair with many options to adjust.

1 month in, still good. Cushion and back piece was in great condition. Plastic and metal frame was a little dirty and just needed some wiping at first. Arm rests were slightly loose but not a bother.

I've been using a gaming chair for quite some time, however after working from home 3 days a week I was noticing I couldn't sit for extended periods of time. After spending some time on YouTube I found BTOD and their comparison of multiple office chair options and their breakdown as to why they are the best option for the work from home professional such as myself. I knew my budget and during one the videos it was suggested to look at refurbished at this price range. As soon as they showed the Amia, I was instantly hooked, I opted for the upgraded armrests and I am SO happy that I did. The overall movement of the armrests allows me to find the perfect match for how I want them to sit. The cushion on the chair gives me so much comfort throughout the day and allows me sit for much longer periods without issue. The overall build quality of this chair shows signs that it will not wear down easily and is a great investment for my work from home future. BTOD did a great job at reviewing chairs through different price ranges and I am so happy with this chair.

The chair design is nearly perfect; the only flaw is the basically nonexistent lumbar support. That's on Steelcase. A slightly bigger issue is that the 4-way arms tend to move around easily under my elbows. Not sure if that's by design or a result of the refurbishing process. Hoping they'll become more "sticky" over time and stay in place. But the overall quality of the chair and the delivery experience are excellent. Loved not having to assemble much. This is 4.5 stars.

Comfy. My legs don't hurt and my hips aren't killing me. Wish it had a little more support for my back. But overall a great chair. And great for the price point

Love the chair. Referb looks brand new! Had a squeak when leaning back but WD40 fixed. Back support is good but not too aggresive. I got the 4 way arm rests, wish there was a lock to keep position. They move to easily. Overall very happy with the chair.

Good: cushion, fabric, delivery time, communication, ease of purchase and packaging were all great! I contacted them about a possible return and about my issues. They offered new wheels and wanted a video of the issues. Customer service was great and was quick. I decided against a return because it seemed like a hassle. Cons: arms were loose, with screws undone and fit that had significant play. several castor wheels were also bound or malfunctioning. Not BTOD related: I am a tall guy 6'3'' and honestly the chair is not suitable for someone over 6 feet. Back is low on my shoulder blades. The seat height is not tall enough for my knees. The adjustable arm pads slide around a lot, this is not a fault of BTOD or their refurbishing but just a heads up if you mind that because Steelcase Amias are designed this way.
