“Refurbished Amia chair is an excellent option for anyone who wants a top tier chair for a fraction of the price. You get the adjustments & qualities of a Leap v2 minus the backrest flexibility & lumbar depth. That said, the lumbar support is more than sufficient (my back pain is gone when in this chair). As someone who spends most of my waking day in a chair the seat is perfectly cushioned (soft enough for blood flow, but firm enough for sustained ergonomic posture). Additionally, as someone who has had 4 shoulder/arm surgeries the arm rests' configurability allows me to position myself with minimal discomfort.
Going refurbished is certainly the move given how thorough BTOD's refurbishing process is. I am confident in the parts that were replaced. Plus, my chair has no cosmetic damages to the plastic (from BTOD, keep reading for more details), but your mileage may vary with that point. I have been recommending BTOD's refurbished chairs to my friends/family due to the value : cost ratio.
My only caveats (hence 4/5) is that I am concerned about how long lasting the industrial lubrication will last on the moving components as my backrest began squeaking 1 month in. Also, when my order arrived via FedEx they had abused the box to the point that the wheel casters had broken through the box and the plastic around it had taken damage.
I rarely, if ever, leave reviews but I am happy to do so for this chair and BTOD given my general satisfaction thus far.”
“Absolutely blown away by the quality of this refurbished chair! It looks and feels like a brand new chair. It took a couple weeks to get used to, since it's the first ergonomic chair I've owned, but now I love it and am glad I spent the money.”
“The seat cushion is definitely harder than I expected, but the back support and overall ergonomics of the chair are great. If the cushion used for the seat were softer, this might be a better value, but honestly it's noticeably firm and I find myself shifting in the chair quite a bit. As for the referb and the quality of the chair, including the fabric, I'm very pleased. It looks new and all functions work very smoothly. I especially like the adjustable tilt of the back.”
“I ordered a refurbished SteelCase Amia, it arrived damaged. BTOD immediately ordered a replacement which showed up a few days later. I'm not sure i could even tell the difference between brand new and refurbished. Thank You!”
“I am enjoying my Amia. I went with geranium for the fabric color and couldn't be more pleased. It adds jut the pop of color needed for my office area. The chair is heavier than I expected. It's not presented a problem, just something to be aware of. I'm sure it's noted in the details. This was my first time looking for a truly ergonomic office chair. Lots of research was done - and the videos and articles on BTOD's website were a tremendous help. Thank you!”
“Very comfortable. Firm seat but no hotspots, so totally fine for sitting in all day. Adjustability of the armrests is my favorite thing about this chair, they can be configured every-which-way for comfort. Easy to assemble. Very sturdy.
Warning: when assembling be careful when moving the base (it's super heavy). When I tipped the base to attach the back it slipped out of my hands & fell on my foot which got bruised pretty badly & was black/blue for a couple of weeks.”
