“Great chair. Amia came and there was only one step for assembly. The only detractor were that the chair had a creak sound when I would lean back. I sprayed DW40 on the main spring. Still had a creak. Eventually found the creak came from two metal plates at the rear of the seat that were rubbing against each other. There was a small scuff at the back of the chair on the black plastic, but that's expected of some refurbished seats.”
“Love my refurbished Amia chair. They did a wonderful job refurbishing this chair. It looks almost brand new, and you have to look really close to see the few scratches on the back. The seat is well padded and very comfortable. It took a few days to get used to the lumbar support, but now I can't imagine a more comfortable chair for me. So glad I went with a refurbished chair, as I got a great, quality chair, in my budget.”
“I'm 5'4 and while the seat goes low enough, I have narrow shoulders and find the arm rests aren't able to get into a comfortable position for me. I also wish the upper back provided more support. I am glad the chair has a movable seat depth as I like to sit cross legged sometimes, however, I noticed that when I do pull it out to its full extent there is a gap in the back that's noticeable. The quality of the chair is great and BTOD did a great job with shipping, packing and refurbishing. However, ever since I put the chair together it is oddly squeaky? I hope to return the chair but I fear I may be past the 30 day window.”

“I was a bit worried about buying a refurbished chair, but my fears were alleviated when I received it! Looked pretty close to being new, minus some scratches in the base and very mild wear on the back plastic.
I wanted an Aeron, but with the recent price hike on it, it's way out of my budget. So, after watching a lot of BTOD (and other's) videos, I decided on the Amia. Very happy with my purchase, chair feels high quality even with being refurbished, has plenty of adjustability, and is extremely comfortable for my body type (6'1 220lbs).
Also, although I really wanted an all mesh chair since the are so much cooler when sitting for long periods when it's warm out, the cloth material on it isn't too bad, as it seems to breathe well (but nowhere close to mesh of course).
The only weird thing I've experienced with it is the lumbar slider doesn't stay in place all the time.
All in all, a great chair, and the purchasing process was great from Btod. Worth it if you want a high end ergonomic office chair that's great for long sessions sitting at your desk (gaming or productivity), but don't want to shell out 1k+ for one.”
