This is a fun activity in Archway, London

Did you know that in China, a long strand of noodles symbolises long life? That’s why Biang Biang noodles are often enjoyed at birthdays and celebrations. If you’re looking for a unique birthday gift experience in London — this is it.

Inspired by the bold flavours of Xi’an street food, this hands-on cooking class teaches you how to make authentic Hand-Pulled Biang Biang Noodles (La Mian) completely from scratch — no additives, no shortcuts, just proper technique.

Love spicy food? You’ll adore the aromatic chilli oil topping. Prefer something milder? We also offer a beautifully fragrant spring onion oil version — equally delicious and fully vegan.

Best of all, the class is thoughtfully designed to be vegan-friendly. If you’re a meat lover, you can explore our dedicated Beef Biang Biang Noodle Class separately, https://classbento.co.uk/w/tmkn.

Whether you're a complete beginner or a confident home cook, your friendly tutor will guide you step by step in a small, spacious, air-conditioned studio. Weekday bookings often feel like a private class.

In this class, you will learn to:
- Prepare and knead noodle dough to achieve perfect elasticity
- Hand-pull Biang Biang noodles from scratch (challenge our 5.1 metre record!)
- Make authentic Xi’an-style chilli sauce and take the remaining jar home. Alternatively, prepare a non-spicy spring onion oil (please mention preference at booking)
- Cook, assemble, and plate your noodles beautifully

By the end of the workshop, you’ll sit down to enjoy your handmade noodles — chewy, glossy, and proudly created by you. You’ll leave not only with a full belly, but with a skill that genuinely impresses.

Hanna was an amazing teaching who gave us a warm welcome and was a delight to spend the afternoon with. She gave us a lot of tips and tricks and explained to us the history of the cuisine. We had a great time and loved the extra touches like the iced tea on a very hot day and the chilli oil for us to take home. Our friends were very impressed with the photos of what we had done and are looking forward to us recreating it for them!

Amazing class and lovely teachers!! Simon and Hannah were both very knowledgeable and made sure we had lots of fun. Got to learn so much about how to make Biang Biang noodles (what a skill!) and its origins at the same time. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back for more classes! ;)

Thank you for the lovely class! The teachers were very friendly and welcoming. They explained all the steps in the process while we were doing them. And also provided background history. They kindly planned for me to make spring onion oil instead of chilli oil since I don't eat much spicy. On top of being delicious, I learned this is actually a more authentic and traditional version. I highly recommend getting 1 or 2 add-ons with your class, that way you can learn more in the same amount of time, and it doesn't cost much more!

Great fun making biang biang noodles and smashed cucumber with Simon! Simon was very knowledgable, taught us the history of the noodles and ingredients and led us through the process. The finished dishes were delicous and we'll for sure be making them again at home and be back to try our hand at another dish!
